I'm part Hungarian-American, so I've taken a fairly big interest in this race. My Nana was a Nagy and 100% Hungarian with some of her siblings born over there in Budapest. I hope Peter Magyar and Tisza destroys Orban and his Fidez fascists. More than that, I hope Magyar is truly a good person and lives up to the promise of a better, freer Hungary and reverses the backslide of democracy in the country.

According to this meme, the US can pull out of NATO with a two-thirds vote by the Senate OR an “act of Congress”. What exactly do they mean by “act of Congress”? How is that different from the two-thirds Senate vote which, apparently, require no action by the House? Why is it an either-or and not a two-thirds vote by both? Genuinely confused by this.

it is frustrating. 

however, I would suggest that we are in a post-truth world. if facts were important to voters, we would not have a lunatic  charlatan as POTUS.

MAGA has loudly declared facts to be irrelevant. and "independents" - if there really are such people - seem to not care that much either. I am not sure the Dems should burden themselves with facts and logic if that is not what people want.

I was calling out the obvious lies for a while but just gave up and just block the nonsense. Looking at my timeline, it's mostly music, sports and cats...lol. I like it better this way.

I'm not aware of the left resorting to lies and misinformation that have nearly the same influence and impact on as many people in their orbit as the lies and information flowing non-stop out of the very influential and impactful far right have on theirs. I'll even go as far as to say I don't think it's even happening. That's why I asked.

Independents are 35% of the American electorate.

THEY are the ones who sway elections to the left or the right.

And THEY are the ones who are leaving Trump in huge droves. 

"Republicans" (or should I just call them the MAGA Party now?) are locked into Trump, for better or worse.

Dems will vote for their Dem candidate, for better or worse.

It is Independents that can go either way. In 2020 they went Biden. In 2024 they went Trump. In 2026, we are now seeing them leave Trump in massive droves and creating a Blue Tidal Wave.

Would you be interested in getting to know an Independent? One? I know of one specifically. (But NOT one who would EVER vote for a lying fascist scumbag like Trump... and never did...).

Given that democracy absolutely depends on facts and logic, I wouldn't agree that "Democrats should be just as hostile to the concept of democracy as Republicans are" is the answer.
