I don’t give him any credit for saying something that is a clear view of a messy situation-because the mess was obvious before he made all his bad decisions and his grasp of things is so weak. Plus he will make new errors on into the future that fail to apply his supposed clarity at the moment.

I'm in favor of the Nobel Peace Prize Committee announcing that no one is worthy this year..

Give one to Joe Biden just to watch Trump's head explode. Give Trump an award for social media fiction.

To be honest, this was the first time I felt like he was acting 'presidentially'.  Maybe I should change that to say this is the first time I felt like he was talking honestly.   Don't get me wrong, I will acknowledge every point of what he did wrong that possibly could have been prevented us from getting into this predicament in the first place.  But, based on his response, I do think he felt he had an understanding with Israel that if the US helped, they would stop.  He's weak though and Netanyahu took advantage of us.  Ultimately this all falls on his feet.

This is Trump's war.

I do think this was one of the rare times he was genuine, but that just makes him a genuine idiot.

I don't think he was speaking about this particular issue but overall history.  It was lashing out at the middle east in general and the last 70 years.  Iran was a proxy for all Arab nations, except of course his Saudi BFF's.

I think we're in agreement, but would just add that it's pretty clear that Netanyahu played him like a fiddle... And that he didn't exactly hide the fact that he was playing him leading up to our intervention.

Just makes it all the more frustrating.

Oil. When the balance of power was in Egypt and Turkey, where culture was deeper and something akin to normal economic development was underway, the Arab world had a chance. But when oil wealth empowered the Wahabi Sheiks and the Persian Shia apocalyptics and shifted the regional leverage, everything started moving backward. Oil wealth has been a curse everywhere it has bubbled up out of the ground.

You could probably include Texas in that as well. :classic_laugh:

primary resource abundance has crippled many a country.  Only those who get a middle class built with actual education resources can overcome the otherwise oligarchic dominance of the bosses with all the resources and money.

Trump's mental and physical fitness is being called into question by a lot of observers.  His rants are not helping.

But still many around him still drink the Kool Aid. Just like with Wilson, FDR, JFK (to an extent, and possibly Biden)

To clarify, I belief Biden still has most of his facilities needed to be POTUS. I'm not sure he would be good for a full term. The same with Trump, but Vance cares me a lot more than Harris would have. Especially with the teams around them

Just an incredible failure....

I'm expecting some major gaslighting very soon where they try to convince us that Trump was right about everything he said.

Leavitt calling it an "alleged assessment" and then immediately saying it was "Top Secret" and "leaked" is hilarious.  Some people will do anything for a paycheck.

Trump once has a spokesperson who called actual facts an "alternate reality." I think it was Kellyanne Conway? I'm not sure what skank factory he finds these people at.

It was Kellyanne Conway, and was alternative facts...

Alternate reality sounds like a lot more fun, though.
