Sports_Freak Posted October 30 Posted October 30 The Dodgers sure could use a LH dominate starting pitcher this winter. <cough><cough> Quote
IdahoBert Posted October 30 Posted October 30 It was cool to see Koufax and Magic Johnson together. Quote
IdahoBert Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Win. I hate how I get sucked into something as lame as giving a crap about another team, but it happened again. At least I don’t feel betrayed. Quote
GalagaGuy Posted October 30 Posted October 30 The game winning RBI came on the third pitch of the game. Quote

Zakk_Wylde Posted October 30 Posted October 30 (edited) Nice .. Yesavage was amazing!!!!! And in regards to my question earlier. All the Americans in here who are pulling for the Jays (specifically for reasons outside of the scope of baseball itself), I appreciate all of you, means the world with everything going on. Sometimes politics and sports mix. Like when the champion of a sport gets to visit the White House. With Toronto possibly winning, that would be kinda....interesting? Quote

Complicated since the players are still mostly American, or Latin, so who knows the degree to which their sympathies are or are not with their 'home' city? Quote
CMRivdogs Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Enjoying the Canadian Maritimes, rooting against the Dodgers Saint John NB is wonderful this time of year 1 Quote
SoCalTiger Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Well my dad wss Canadian but had a British Passport since they were still a colony back then so maybe that's discount and my Mother was American with American Indian bloodlines so that's an add on so I guess..well heck who can root for the pompous and conceited Dodgers so yes I am enjoying David slaying Goliath. oblong Posted October 31 Posted October 31 I’m in Pittsburgh this weekend. Today it’s the Clemente museum. Yesterday was the Heinz museum which blew me away. I expected ketchup bottles. I got the Smithsonian and more. Here’s some baseball related photos. 1 1 Quote

If you are looking for other options, head toward the Natural History Museum, not far from the Pitt campus. Near there, a few blocks away is the left field wall from Forbes Field. I believe Home plate is inside the Law School. I would also recommend Point State Park. The museum there is interesting. This was the site of the fort during the French and Indian war. Some nice views of the football stadium there as well Quote
oblong Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Thanks. We are staying with friends. Their son plays soccer for Carnegie Mellon so they’ve been coming here for 3 years. They just rent a place for 3 months and come out every weekend. It’s such a cool city. I had no idea. It also nice to just be along for the ride. A jazz club last night featuring a drummer who had a display at the museum yesterday. l 1 Quote
Tiger337 Posted October 31 Posted October 31 I loved the Heinz museum. I wasn't planning on going, but I happened to be staying at the hotel across the street. It is a really nice city in general. It was a pleasant surprise. 1 Quote

Really hadn't been back to spend much time there with the eXception of visiting a few relatives until last year. My wife had a conference, I got to explore. Quote
IdahoBert Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Wow! Gausman with five strikeouts in the first two innings against the Dodgers. Quote
IdahoBert Posted November 1 Posted November 1 So I guess I’m the only loser on Halloween night watching the World Series. All of the rest of you are getting drunk or high at adult themed Halloween parties or taking your children trick-or-treating because you’re wholesome types. Quote
IdahoBert Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Will Smith slaps a doubles on a fly ball to left fielder Nathan Lukes. Tommy Edman scores. Shohei Ohtani to 3rd. 1-0 LA Quote
IdahoBert Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Dodgers now lead 3-0. And I’m having a moment of clarity about this. This is not my battle. It’s back to old Bullwinkle cartoons for me. Quote
