Keating and York were a bit bland.  But, like Mario, they didn’t cause any unnecessary distractions or make it about them.  Very straight forward.  I’ll reserve judgment until I see how they replace them.

My dreamcast on TV is Dickerson/Dirks in the booth with Petry and York or Kane on the postgame.

Benneti has worn thin—kind of understand why the ChiSox ran him out.  He’d probably be much better on radio where he couldn’t call attention to distractions outside of the game play, which he likes to do on TV.

No more Mickey York...

That's a bummer... I figured with Keating retiring...

I hope the "new direction" involves people who know what they are doing but we'll see.

Maybe the "different direction" will entail Fanduel gambling podcast hosts pulling double-duty by syndicating in-studio broadcasts during games for their RSN's nine teams from a centralized studio in New York. Or, "better" yet, from Vegas.

Ugh. I was merely thinking more the “influencer” route

Agree, it’s a bad look. Ed.  Did she turn down a date with you?

Actually it’s a bad look to assume a criticism of a female writer is based on something “romantic” rather than the work itself.  she’s not immune from criticism because of her gender.

She’s redundant. “Win streak reached eight straight”.  Uses emojis and hashtags unnecessarily and often lifts other people’s work.

Nobody suggests a criticism of Mccosky is because he turned down a date.

Pretty sure McCosky never got asked on a date.

The magnificent seven has done a great job on offense. Tork, McKinstry, Torres, Carpenter, Greene, Baez and Dingler.

7 deep.  And Sweeny might be expanding the list to eight.  Always seem to have had a hole somewhere in the top 4.  Tork last year, Baez until he got bumped down, Colt for awhile, Miggy for so many years.

Matty V hit a home run and walked 2 more times yesterday.   I don't think he's going to need much more time at Toledo.  I bet we see him for the Texas series.    And Jace Jung can go back to Toledo where he can learn some hitting.

I think I’d demote Malloy first.

It all depends on how ready Vierling is to make the throws from third.

So, has anyone given any thought to what or if they should try to accumulate something or someone at the trade deadline?

The offseason attempt to acquire a RH bat seems to be fixed in the aggregate with Torkelson and Baez sudden quality.

We have so many pieces coming back off injury it almost seems like you can't evaluate yet.  Maybe they want to acquire more prospects?

Prospects are valued so highly now. Right now I think they stand pat but an injury could change that. Maybe pick up someone who is available this year and next year.

You almost have to add something at the deadline as a token to your team to show them you mean business.  Dunno how this will work this year.

We will be adding pieces monthly as is . . . . Vierling, Meadows, Perez, Maddon, Brebbia, Rogers, Lange maybe.

These guys seem extremely confidant. I don't think Hinch would let that become a factor in the clubhouse. They lost people at the deadline last year and improved. They know what they are capable of. They "lost" an upgrade at third this offseason and that hasn't seemed to have any effect on them.
