papalawrence Posted June 8 Posted June 8 I don't expect Harris to leave any time soon, but what if a major market team throws 15 million per at him - will Illitch match or top? Boston won't be content losing much longer. I could see Illitch matching any offer. Harris has done a very good job. And Harris gets to see what happens in Detroit when its teams are producing. And he has AJ. A lot of reasons to stick around. Quote

RatkoVarda Posted Tuesday at 01:59 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:59 PM not sure if the decades of failures in the international space were due to talent identification or talent development, or a combo of both. DD and Avila tried to spread the money around and not go for one big guy. perhaps they lacked the connections to go big. the 2 guys they hit dead on were traded - Adames and Suarez, and I guess Greg Soto was the best pitcher finally now Wenceel and Montero are contributing. hoping that Briceno and Rodriguez and others, are not C Santana, Jose De La Cruz, Adinso Reyes, Alvaro Gonzales, Julio Martinez, and the best one of all Adelyn Santa - great name who could not get visa after signing for $750K if they have hit on Rodriguez, Harris and team are on a pretty incredible run Quote
Shinzaki Posted Tuesday at 02:57 PM Posted Tuesday at 02:57 PM SS Javier Osorio is another guy I'm watching...big numbers in his first few games stateside as a 20 year-old in the FCL. Seems to strike out a ton..but things happen when he makes contact Quote

For Serwa, it turned his Double-A debut last Thursday at UPMC Park into an introduction for several Richmond Flying Squirrels to his bread-and-butter pitch. He fanned four in a five-batter span from the third inning into the fourth. He then allowed a two-out walk and a ground-ball single, hit a batter, then gave up a two-run single on a fastball. Serwa finished his Double-A debut with six innings and a victory, allowing four runs on four hits with two walks and four strikeouts. It was an impressive debut for a pitcher making his 11th appearance and sixth start in Minor League ball, the latest stop in a journey that included four colleges and two indy ball teams, most recently the Chicago Dogs last summer. LongLiveMaroth Posted Wednesday at 02:29 PM Posted Wednesday at 02:29 PM Clark has had a roughhhh month. I decided to dive into the numbers a bit. Since 5/11 he has sported a .175/.371/.275 line. 22% BB rate but also a 21% K rate. Somehow, that is still a 105 wRC+. Diving deeper, his BABIP during this time is .214, which is about 100 points lower than he averaged in his previous seasons. To put it another way, while Clark is cold right now, he should have better luck soon. Quote

Shinzaki Posted Wednesday at 07:13 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:13 PM Toledo is an underrted city for fun stuff. Great zoo...amazing museum..pretty good symphony orchestra. A little too much gun play in some parts of town, but that's true of a lot of places Quote

papalawrence Posted Thursday at 02:57 AM Posted Thursday at 02:57 AM (edited) My family visited the Toledo zoo in 1971. Didn't see Klinger. I remember weird stuff like that. And that Al Kaline never hit 30 dingers. And Carew hit .388 in '77. Same year Foster hit .320 with 52 and 149. Edited Thursday at 02:57 AM by papalawrence Quote
