I'm assuming Anderson to Toledo would be the priority guy and get most of his starts at 2B (unless they want to try him also at 1B?) It still looks like a utility guy or two would need to go to Detroit, or Erie... or somewhere. Even with playing Workman and Kreidler in the OF quite a bit (I think Cruz also has been played quite a bit in the OF this year and last year IIRC...). What does everyone else think...? That is just how minor leagues are run. Keep guys fresh at multiple positions and mix-and-match. Quote

Arlington Posted Tuesday at 08:10 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:10 PM If the managers start following Hinch's example of player substitution they can get in good time for a number of players and give them success at the same time. Quote

Edman85 Posted yesterday at 12:03 PM Posted yesterday at 12:03 PM Let me expound on Ibanez. He is a 32 year-old weak side platoon bench piece making twice the minimum. The surplus value is nil, and he is unlikely to warrant staying on the arbitration contract route, meaning he is more than likely bound to be DFA'ed or non-tendered this off-season. He is effectively an expiring free agent. This isn't to say he can catch a hot streak and recoup his value like Mckinstry did. This also isn't to say he won't be traded; he could be a DFA trade guy. But the teams he is most valuable for right now are contenders. Somebody who can be stashed in AAA and maybe be a platoon bat when you can carry an extra bench bat or two in the postseason. Unfortunately, teams trading back end relievers aren't in the market for 32 year-old bench bat non-tender candidates. Maybe if the Dodgers have a roster crunch when guys get healthy and have an extra reliever they are going to be forced to DFA, that could work. Quote

Edman85 Posted yesterday at 01:15 PM Posted yesterday at 01:15 PM Internal thought on Monday: Brieske and Lange could return soon and fortify the bullpen. Yesterday Lange had a setback and Brieske walked 3 and gave up 5 in .2IP. 1 1 Quote

They claiming 'abundance of caution' so maybe it will be a short break.....maybe. Quote

Ironic because Hinch in his postgame presser mentioned that internal help was forthcoming, calling out Lange and Urquidy. Quote

I definitely agree on Ibanez and probably shouldn't have included him in the tradeable category. I think it's considerably more likely they take the Urshela route and release him so he can have a chance to sign with a team than he gets traded. Quote
Shinzaki Posted yesterday at 02:58 PM Posted yesterday at 02:58 PM Nestor Miranda continues to slug in the DSL...32 AB..4HR with a double and a triple. Has walked 6 times..only downside is the 8k's. Has an 1109 OPS off a 250/390/719 line. 1 Quote

He has an option and is with a team he can get a chance to contribute right now! No need to release him. Hang on to depth just in case the whole infield gets hurt in the ALCS or something. 2 Quote
LongLiveMaroth Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I was curious to see how Franyerber had done since Rainer went down with his season-ending injury. Honestly, for a little over a month, he has been on a tear. Quick side note, he is running a .448 BABIP so definitely not sustainable but the numbers are pretty fantastic .354/.433/.544 12% BB rate while K'ing 21%. I get why they pushed Hadeen up as he is a little older and you would like that K rate below 20 but still think they should have pushed Franyerber up to A+. Even with his slump in May he still has a 125 wRC+ on the season. 1 Quote
IdahoBert Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I haven’t read this entire thread so if I missed this information too bad. I just wanted to know about the Erie Seawolves name change and how long or how many times they would use this name so I looked it up. The Erie SeaWolves, will not be changing its name for only one game. They are temporarily rebranding as the Erie Moon Mammoths for four games during the season: July 19, August 19, September 12, and September 13. 1 Quote

Franyerber is not really the level of prospect that jumps levels every year, he's more of a spend a whole year at one level kind of prospect. At least until he forces his way up Quote
