The K/BB rates are night and day Because Liranzo is a switch hitter who can actually stick at catcher and has an above average ops in AA while being young for the league. He also has a history similar to Dingler of a significant adjustment period to a new league-probably in part to handling the pitching staff. Briceno is a better hitting prospect, but Liranzo has a true chance to be a power hitting.775-.850 switching hitting catcher which there aren’t to many of. Quote

Yep...like Mickey Tettleton back in the 90's. Advanced stats weren't much of a thing back then so his OBP and good power numbers didn't get the respect they deserved 2 Quote

LongLiveMaroth Posted August 1 Posted August 1 4 hours ago, theroundsquare said: "here to stay" -- in Toledo -- maybe not so good OK, so not to play too much into things but since he has changed his stance he has actually played really well. I can't remember the exact date but it was around 6/19. Since 6/19 he has a .275/.409/.480 line good for .890 OPS while walking 18.9% of the time and K'ing 26%. Now will that translate to the Majors? No idea but he has played much better for the last 6 weeks than his season numbers reflect. Quote
Tigermojo Posted August 2 Posted August 2 Briceno first homer at AA. SGL pitching even better than Jack. Quote
SoCalTiger Posted August 2 Posted August 2 2027 Skubal will sadly be gone but these kids will be up and the winning will continue. The song remains the same. Quote

Cruzer1 Posted August 4 Posted August 4 I wonder if RJ Petit is going to be a candidate for the Tigers or not, but he's had an excellent year, and needs to be protected from the rule 5. Quote
