We need to finish ahead of either Houston or the East winner to get a wildcard bye.

Yep, my scoreboard watching priority is Houston (2.0 games back of the Tigers) and Toronto (4.5 games back of the Tigers). Every other AL team is more than 7 games behind the Tigers.  The division race is over.

These low scoring games are more like it. The pitching has to get right again.

Skubal has to be on his A-game. Hard to sweep a team like the Guardians at home and completely shut them down. I expect them to score a few. Offense has to pick it up

I still remember that season where we went something like 1-17 with Cleveland. I mean, they had no obligation to roll over and let us win or anything. The Tigers lost those games fair and square. It’s not like Cleveland cheated. But I hold a grudge and every time we beat them it’s sweet.

Well, they do have a 9 game losing streak, so they are lost. Let’s make it 10.

Skubal in line for one more start before the break—Saturday v Seattle.  That would knock him out for pitching on Tuesday in the All Star game.  And I’m very good with that—we have bigger goals.

I wondered if he would get one in the ribs but no.

It was the 2nd baseman’s fault-the shortstop left the bag to catch the wild throw and Torres was right there

Fantastic game for Mize and so nice to see a game without betting odds all over the screen.

Thank God for Fox. Am I right? 😉

Houston beats the Dodgers again to pull to within 1.5 games of the Tigers for best record in the AL. But the good news in that is that, 90 games into the season, the Tigers are now back in a tie with the Dodgers for the best record in MLB.
