papalawrence Posted August 13 Posted August 13 Whew! Melton, SGL, Finnegan and Vest. Those will be vital arms for the final stretch. Not sure if I trust any lefties in the pen right now Quote

Sports_Freak Posted August 13 Posted August 13 I wouldn't mind seeing if Melton could pitch better than Flaherty is he went into the rotation. Use Jack in the bullpen. And maybe SGL for Morton? Quote
IdahoBert Posted August 13 Posted August 13 Has anyone ever voted for the player of the game in the 7th inning in an apparently listless game? Quote

Of course do that and at some point you might as well make him a long reliever 2 Quote

And maybe SGL for Morton? I think SGL likely stays in the pen for 1-3 inning stints. I don't think Morton is coming out of the rotation until the postseason - he still had double digit K's in his poor start. Hopefully Melton and SGL will allow Flaherty/Morton/Paddock to have shorter leashes if they start to get into trouble. 2 Quote
