CaliforniaDreaming Posted Monday at 12:54 PM Posted Monday at 12:54 PM Might as well get the good Jack this game. Quote
tiger2022 Posted Monday at 02:23 PM Posted Monday at 02:23 PM This is going to be a bloodbath against the pitchers. The over/under is 8.5. This game will reach that by inning #4. Hopefully, the Tigers can get a big enough lead early. Quote
IdahoBert Posted Monday at 02:32 PM Posted Monday at 02:32 PM Well, this is a series where the rubber really meets the road. It’s actually sort of pivotal. The Astros are definitely a team that can be beaten. They are 7–8 in August. They have both won and lost a series to Boston in August. They are coming off of losing a series to Baltimore at home. They also won a series against the Yankees on the road. The Astros starter last pitched five innings and allowed one hit 2ER 5BB struck out three. After they pulled him the Astros pen allowed 12 runs against the Red Sox. In his two previous games he was hit hard by Miami and the Twins. In the Tigers philosophy of winning one game at a time this is the one game they really need to win. Quote
oblong Posted Monday at 02:47 PM Posted Monday at 02:47 PM I want my free chick fil a sandwich. I've gotten used to them this season. I've had 5 of them so far. Quote
IdahoBert Posted Monday at 03:25 PM Posted Monday at 03:25 PM Weather looks good, which is something I forgot could happen. Quote
lordstanley Posted Monday at 03:31 PM Posted Monday at 03:31 PM (edited) Houston took 2 of the 3 to win the first series with the Tigers this season. So to be assured of a tiebreaker advantage, the Tigers need to sweep. Winning 2 of 3 would put the Tigers in good shape though because the 2nd tiebreaker is one’s record within one’s own division, even when the tie involves teams from separate divisions. Right now, the Tigers’ record against the AL Central is much better than the Astros’ record against the AL West. Edited Monday at 03:31 PM by lordstanley 1 Quote
Sports_Freak Posted Monday at 04:01 PM Posted Monday at 04:01 PM No more game 163 tie-breakers. It's head to head results. The Tigers need to take 2 of 3 to match Houston. The next tiebreaker is divisional records. And I hear the Tigers are way ahead on that. Just win, baby!! Quote

Adullin Posted Monday at 06:49 PM Posted Monday at 06:49 PM S. Arrighetti 1-3 6.38 1.47 18.1 16 16 11 2 J. Flaherty 6-12 4.76 1.31 124.2 114 153 49 20 Looks like the battle of the crap pitchers but to be fair Flaherty has had several quality starts so it all depends on which version of this guy shows up. I think the good version will show up so 8-3 Tigers is my call. Quote
IdahoBert Posted Monday at 06:59 PM Posted Monday at 06:59 PM Jeez Flaherty has lost 12 games? I suppose that giving up runs early and the Tigers not scoring when he’s pitching is a part of that but still that’s a lot of losses. Quote
Shinzaki Posted Monday at 07:20 PM Posted Monday at 07:20 PM Lange off the IL..Horn apparently gone Quote

tiger2022 Posted Monday at 09:07 PM Posted Monday at 09:07 PM What was missing from the roster was a reliever who walks the lead off guy and then gives up a hard hit double to the power alley. Welcome back Alex Lange. Quote

IdahoBert Posted Monday at 10:50 PM Posted Monday at 10:50 PM So I’m here. Just tested positive for Covid for the fourth or is it the fifth time? I honestly thought it was just a cold or the flu this time but yep, I’ve got it again. Jack don’t you dare blow this first inning. Get out of it for me do it for the kids. 3 Quote
