CaliforniaDreaming Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Really...must win...not just saying it this time... Quote
tiger2022 Posted September 21 Posted September 21 This is a must win game for them. The Cleveland series is going to be brutal. All 5 of the Guardian starters would easily be the 2nd best starter on the Tigers. It's going to be an uphill battle for the offense to score many runs in the Cleveland series. They can't keep screwing around and playing like a team full of Jim Walewanders. Quote
lordstanley Posted September 21 Posted September 21 (edited) It’s a brand new morning, one in which the Tigers still wake up alone in 1st place. But for the last time this year? Edited September 21 by lordstanley Quote
1776 Posted September 21 Posted September 21 I really hate Morton didn’t work out. It sucks for him and the Tigers. Quote
antrat Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Losing half their starters has caught up with the Tigers. Even if they squeak into the playoffs, I don't expect them to go far. Hope I'm wrong. Quote

tiger2022 Posted September 21 Posted September 21 (edited) He traded for two of the worst starters in the league. Maybe not asleep at the wheel but definitely missing turns to get to where he needs to go. I know some posters venerate Harris, but other than the bullpen, Torres, and Flaherty, every player that has contributed over the last two years have been Avila's draft picks. I don't want him fired, but i don't see him as some moracle worker turning the franchise around, more that he was extremely fortunate the players that were in the organization when he was hired took a step forward in the last few years. It looks almost like Harris decided this year wasn't a priority and he is banking everything on the next batch of players working out. It's frustrating as a fan to watch the GM not really try to improve the team. Edited September 21 by tiger2022 Quote

SoCalTiger Posted September 21 Posted September 21 no Riley..no bueno....sorry to say but he is the Poster child of the collapse to date. Still time but the vibes are really bad... Quote
chasfh Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Oh, hey, Benetti out again? What, is there a D3 football game on some RSN’s plus channel that needed a PxP guy today? 1 Quote
gehringer_2 Posted September 21 Posted September 21 (edited) teams seem to have figured out the Tigers system for scouting their pitchers because whatever secret sauce they were giving hitters to prep them in the first half of the season isn't working anymore. They aren't hitting anyone. Edited September 21 by gehringer_2 1 Quote

IdahoBert Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Other than that two games against the Yankees, they haven’t hit a lick since. Quote
IdahoBert Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Was really hoping for some Torkelson magic in the bottom of the fifth, but no dice. Quote
Adullin Posted September 21 Posted September 21 This is the opposit of last year. Honestly this is worse then the year we set the record for losses. Having hope stolen sucks. Quote
IdahoBert Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Pinch-hitter Jace Jung replaces Javier Báez. Apparently there is still hope… Quote

IdahoBert Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Another wasted opportunity with two on in the sixth. Quote
IdahoBert Posted September 21 Posted September 21 I sometimes wonder if this bad luck is because Comerica Park is built on an Indian burial ground but the entire Midwest is one big Indian burial ground anyway. So that’s a dumb idea. Quote
