Right now Casey has a 14–6 win/loss record. In the 1960s when I was growing up, a 15–6 win/loss record on the back of a baseball card looked damn good. I hope he wins his 15th game.

In reality, I’d be happy if the Tigers just won full stop, but 15–6 has a symmetry to it that I find nostalgically pleasing.

I’m glad they won, but the squandered opportunities they used to cash in on were really irksome in this game. Remembering how to score runs would be really good. Of course, run prevention as well. Glad Vest came through.

And surely if they clinch a playoff spot by Saturday night they will save Skubal for the wildcard on Monday, even if the division is still in play.
