chasfh Posted September 25 Posted September 25 I’s true: networks have the upper hand here, and they should take advantage of that. In big markets, there are enough independents they can strike affiliate deals with, like WDAL in DC or KWDK in Seattle or KPDX in Portland to shake off pesky affiliate groups and get clearance for their shows. In small markets, they can strike deals with other stations to run on their dot-two channels to get clearance. Affiliate groups on the other hand won't make as much money airing Golden Girls reruns, so it ends up hurting them more. I think I'd like to see networks flex their muscle in this case. 1 Quote
romad1 Posted September 28 Author Posted September 28 Maybe the Tigers aren't dead but he certainly put a dagger into their hitting in September. Lets hope they can clear this month and keep playing. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted September 28 Posted September 28 I'm not even watching the Tigers. It's hard to root for a team I find so unlikeable. Quote

Is this something you know because you’ve come across that allegation somewhere? Either way, anyone who is one of those by-their-fruits ye-shall-know-them consumers of sports and popular culture might consider dropping all allegiance to any MLB team since they are, to a one, all lousy with red hats. The three of them did the Trump dance when they were in NY. I’m sure most MLB players (the white ones especially) are this, but I don’t want to know. Quote

It’s possible some guys, like the Latin guys, do the dance without feeling that feeling. But yeah I’m with you: I’d rather not have to know. Quote

This plus I don’t need to hear Carpenter give a sermon every time he’s interviewed. Seeing Skubal in an American flag skullcap or whatever it’s called. We know he’s MAGA. Hunch is an overrated manager who had success with a loaded Astros team that cheated. I do give him some credit because I don’t think this Tigers team is as talented as their record. Greene has hit some HR but I’m tired of seeing him constantly just take big hacks at every pitch. I also don’t like Benetti. Maybe don’t like us too strong, but I could do without his Lewis 2.0 routine. I also hate the Illitch family as they are nothing but slumlords. At least Mike spent on the Tigers. 1 Quote

There is still time to stop them before the season starts. Edited October 5 by Tigeraholic1 1 Quote
Motown Bombers Posted October 5 Posted October 5 This is what's confusing to me. The Tigers and the Pistons aren't the only ones who are religious. Their opponents are religious so why did God bless the Tigers with a win last night and not the Mariners? Did the Tigers worship harder? Quote
pfife Posted October 5 Posted October 5 So we now post when an athlete says something about God? Better get the servers upgraded again Quote
pfife Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Does God approve of a federal govt coverup of pedophilia? 1 Quote
oblong Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Why don’t they point to the sky and cross themselves when they strike out? Didn’t God bless the pitcher? Share the wealth. 1 Quote

Why wouldn't a good religious person not believe God loves all the players enough not to take any rooting interest in who wins? It's just kindergarten level theology, but hey, if it gets them through their ABs...... I played softball on Chruch leagues for years and the fact that no-one could claim God was more on their side was always good. 1 Quote
