Motor City Sonics Posted October 2 Posted October 2 I am not on the air Sautrday, but I am the Program Director and I can do whatever I want. So I am going to make sure that Centerfield by Fogerty plays before or during the game. And if they win Saturday, I will play that song before EVERY playoff game. 1 Quote

monkeytargets39 Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Kerry Carpenter had 14% of his walks for the year in today’s game. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Who starts Game 1? Reese Olson? Seriously, who starts Game 1? Quote
IdahoBert Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Looks like Skubal won’t be able to pitch against Seattle until game three in Detroit. It’ll be like his last time, pitching on the sixth day. Too bad he’s not like Mickey Lolich who pitched game 5 in Detroit in the ‘68 series and on the third day game 7 in St. Louis. Quote
holygoat Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Nice of the bats to show up! My phone was blowing up during the drive home from work, but I didn't want to know what happened until I got home, which ended up being the bottom of the 9th. MLB posted the 7th and 9th innings on YT, so that was nice to watch after walking the dog. This team has been streaky af since the ASG, so they have as good a chance as any team of catching fire and going all the way, but I think beating Seattle will make most of the salty fans forget about how the regular season ended. I was counting on him going on 4 days rest on Sunday and then again on 4 days rest on Friday for a Game 5 if necessary. Quote

Its time to be seen. Did the boys give me a holla in the post game shenanigans? Let’s be realz, if I hadn’t posted this brilliance, we’re probably lamenting another shutout. Quote

The “start the game thread til they lose” theory has thus far resulted in a loss for the next game. I think we need to cycle in order from me to Oblong to MWG. 1 Quote

Even in the modern age, four days rest is the norm. The minimum maybe, but the norm. Quote

monkeytargets39 Posted October 2 Posted October 2 (edited) Doesn’t look like Bryan Woo will be pitching in the ALDS—or if he does it wouldn’t be the first few games. That’s a big deal because their starting pitching isn’t their strong point. If the bats are perking up, this could be a winnable series. They’d probably have the game 1 pitching matchup advantage if we don’t go with Skubal, but we would likely have the advantage in all other games. Edited October 2 by monkeytargets39 Quote

Counting by hours... he'd actually have roughly 4 days rest at Saturday game time in Seattle; especially if it's a Seattle 7PM-ish start... Just guessing... Hinch is going to ask Skubes if he wants to start Saturday. Quote

He chose to resign with Cleveland probably for a lesser amount than go for a big payday in the FA market. That's very rare today. As a bonus he knocked the snot out of Tim Anderson. I just wish he played for the Tigers. Great game today for the Tigers. So glad they got it together at the plate. Perez finally got a hit when they needed it and Hinch left Carpenter in against the leftie and it paid off. He literally got thrown out by Vest because he was jogging down to second base. (Underrated play of the game) Did you know Will Vest used to be a shortstop? Its becoming the Matthew Stafford/Clayton Kershaw of this year's playoffs. Quote
kdog Posted October 2 Posted October 2 If the Yankees win, game 1 is at 8:38 PM Eastern on FS1. If the Red Sox win, game 1 is at 4:08 Eastern on Fox. Game 2 is at 8:03 pm Eastern on FS1 either way. Quote
GalagaGuy Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Kahnle doesn't get a spot on the ALDS roster, right? I think he's had all the chances Hinch can afford to give him. Quote
lordstanley Posted October 3 Posted October 3 Oh wow, horrible call in Chicago right now. Padres down 2 in the 9th, 0 on 0 out, Boegarts absolutely drew a ball four on a full count pitch but it was called a strikeout. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted October 3 Posted October 3 Congratulations on your division title, Guardians. It's adorable. 3 Quote
