A part of me likes the Brewers because I don’t feel any particular allegiance to the American League any longer given all the interleague play and I love interleague play. But I don’t care enough to actually watch any games with the Brewers.

I’d argue it was the most professional thing I’ve ever heard.  No announcer has ever summed up my exact feelings that well.

If I read the box score correct, the game went 4 hours and 58 minutes. 

I've been out of this for a while, but old. This was one of the most incredible and intense baseball games I have ever watched. It had a little bit of everything. Both sides. They both were incredible. The strike out of the big guy on pitch 99 at 101. Here it is big boy - hit it - he didn't. Might the next time. 🙂 

I'm old school pitching wise (I watched Lolich back in the day several times) but I'm glad they pulled Skub. I think he was gassed.

Then the Raleigh throw to second that some called the greatest throw ever (it was very good, no argument there) but Dingler said hold my beer later in the game. Both teams had chances over so many. It was like Houdini a few times. I don't know how they got out of some of those jams. 2 thru 5 went something like 0 for 23. Not good, no argument, but if I remember right, there were a few balls hit hard, but right at someone. That happens, that's baseball. 

In a game like that, especially being the road team, they needed a break. I'll call it luck. They didn't get one.

When Javy's bat shattered, so did my hopes and dreams. I thought for sure they would score there.

I think Melton would do well back in the starting rotation.  The way things go he would end up having TJ surgery in June and be out 2 years.

Me too. And I had a sense that Meadows was going to get a huge hit. 

On Tigers Territory podcast, Cody Stavenhagen said it best - the Tigers played hard. They have a playoff roster, but not an ALCS roster. They have holes. The better team won. 

I think Skubal's quotes that the Tigers brass should  have WS expectations is similar. 

Time to see where Harris stands.

I lived in Seattle from 1991-2000 and had a friend with season tickets. I saw many games, including Ryan's last. I still have friends there and would like to see the Mariners finally go all the way.

Me too. The game is that close. There were a few busted bats. He was a few milliseconds from a base hit. "missed it by that much"

I didn't think they would turn over the steal/tag call but they did. Probably got it right too. Just wild stuff all night. 

It was too hard to see the strike zone on the broadcast but didn't look like we got any favors there either. Is there data on that from some home plate robo cop?

you can go back into MLB gameday for any past game and look at the pitches for any particular AB. And I believe the box there is more accurate than whatever any of the networks use.

There is an 'umpire scorecard' site  that give summary ratings and biases for games but someone said it didn't post playoffs - I have no direct knowledge on that.

It's probably the most excited I've gotten watching a game since 2006 (beating the Yankees and then the Ordonez homer).  The 2009 game 163 was pretty intense too, but that was not well played.  Lots of people are talking about the lack of hitting on both sides last night, but there was some great pitching and defense, not a lot of mistakes.  It was a fantastic game.

I found his umpire scorecard on Instagram. I'm not sure how to share it. He called a good, fair game.

I echo you and others. I had confidence in Javy and had a really good feeling about it. I was still concerned that if it got to two strikes he would chase one far away for a strikeout, but as long as he took cuts at the first couple of pitches in the strike zone he would get the run in. He got his pitches and his swings, but one went foul and one broke his bat. That was the chance. And as for being a game of inches, the throw on the bunt was very close to hitting Meadows or bouncing off the first baseman's glove, there was a chance of a run scoring right there before needing any more dramatic at bats.

Thanks, I was curious about that.

Hard to tell as the game was going on. There were only a few pitches I thought they missed on but hard to tell. Of course they were at crucial times, but most times are...

I do remember a few times I yelled "where the **** was that?."

Part of the problem is Fox’s box is not accurate.  A few times I saw a “garbage” pitch then I would check game day and it was either ok or close enough.  I quit checking because the TV was a pitch behind.  
 

I saw a scorecard that gave him high marks. I stand corrected.  Especially over a 15 inning game.

Did Fox even have a box?  Sometimes there was a very dim solid box which I could barely see, but it wasn't always there.  Maybe, it was just my TV.  It was actually disconcerting not having a box because I have gotten so used to it.
