Week Eighteen: Detroit Lions (8-8) @ Chicago Bears (11-5)

The Lions play the Cardinals and Giants next year and the Bears play the Seahawks and Eagles.

The Lions could have easily won the division this season if it wasn't for some poor coaching at inopportune times or just plain shooting themselves in the foot. Hire a real offensive coordinator, add some offensive line pieces, get LaPorta healthy and I think this team is rolling again next season but the coaches have to be better.

Bittersweet win. Win one more stinking division game and make the playoffs. Lesser draft pick but

Gratifying win...did not want to finish underwater. 

Decker looks to be retiring...need to sign a vet..draft a prospect and find a legit C.  On D..gonna need a safety and a LB to replace Anzalone.  You hope LaPorta can come back...but drafting a TE in the later rounds wouldn't beva bad idea

I do think Campbell will go thru the offseason rethinking his strategy going forward.  Its not the aggressiveness on 4th down decisions when we could've kicked a field goal as imo that wont change.  But, Its some of the clock decisions that a head coach who wasn't distracted by play calling changes and frankly some of the way to cute of play calls they used for no reason sometimes.

I would be surprised if they weren't successful next year assuming they stay healthy.

The 4th place schedule won't mean anything if we cant win division games. 2-4 in the division cost us a playoff berth.

Most of us have him on ignore and only see his trolling post when somebody responds to him. I unblocked him before the season but I didnt even last the 1st quarter of the first game. 😆😅

I don't disagree it was a bad year in division but if we only win one more game in division or out of division we are in the playoffs.  Do you think back on the season and think we probably gave a couple games away?  If even 50% healthier at the Oline/TE position we are probably playing next week.  I really just don't see doom and gloom for this roster yet.

Weren't the Bears 2-4 in the division?

We want to root for the Ravens. If the Ravens, Lions get the 16th pick. If the Steelers win, Lions get the 17th pick.

Yeah...but they were lucky. Losing division games makes it really hard to win the division. They had a very lucky season.

Split with Green Bay, Minnesota and beat Pittsburgh and we win the division.

I'm glad we won today given that draft position doesn't really matter at this point and we still get a 4th place schedule as it is. I'm still pissed about the fact that we will have a winning record, while a team with a losing record will be in the playoffs.

Let’s not forget the many injuries this year to key players/positions.  We had two of top 6 safeties in the league.  Not sure any other teams in the NFL could have scratched out a winning record against one of the most difficult schedules in the league.

The Bear's season was similar to last year's Commanders. The Green Bay game may be winnable, I'm not sure about the rest. 

They're just as likely to regress next year, just like Washington. Remember the team is still owned by the McCaskeys, the family that can't find a city willing to fund their stadium
