In low turnout primaries, the show pony wins.

lets hope it's not low turnout then because low Dem energy would be a terrible sign for the general as well.

Basically what you are saying is if Stevens wins Dem leadership picked her, if El-Genocide wins, voters picked him.

He literally said the opposite of that.  Bull****ter.

Nice comparing a nomination race with superdelagates to a nomination race without superdelegates.   More bad faith and dishonesty.

The voters picked Biden over Sanders by 10 million votes, but to El-Genocide, it was rigged by the DNC. Basically what you are saying is if Stevens wins Dem leadership picked her, if El-Genocide wins, voters picked him.

not at all. The voters are picking the winner. All I said was that Stevens was the party's choice - that doesn't mean she still doesn't have to win the votes.

I'm not voting for him if he makes it through the primary. I have voted in every election for the past 25 years and voted Democrats up and down the ballot. This would be the first time ever not voting for a Democrat. I'll write in Hunter Biden or uncommitted. He should have earned my vote. It's not my fault if he loses. He should've campaigned harder.

You sound just like the bitter Bernie bros in 2016.

Well maybe the far left will stop taking my vote for granted. It worked out so well for the Bernie Bros. Short term pain for long term gain.

Yep.   The bros he has denounced here for years.   Total hypocrisy.

In 2024, when we could have stopped Trump, El-Genocide was too busy supporting uncommitted who campaigned and fundraised against the only person to defeat Trump. El-Genocide put more effort into undermining Biden than defeating Trump. When we told them democracy was on the line, they said they weren't going to be threatened into voting. Now I'm expected to vote for El-Genocide because our democracy hangs in the balance? We're already ****ed.

If this is not what a MAGA plant does, then I don’t know what.

He just wants a say in who is picked or the process in which someone is picked.  Maine went for a progressive and I think he wants to make sure a progressive is on the ballot.  As of yesterday the Maine democratic party was refusing to listen to him.  I personally don't want a progressive, but he does have the 'will of the people' on his side.

Speaking of facts, there were 1682 write in votes cast in Michigan, far far far far far far fewer than the difference between Trump and Harris.   Therefore, uncommitted couldnt have even swung Michigan.

And Michigan was only one state Harris lost that she needed to win in order to secure the presidency.

Here's the numbers and they dont lie like magatownbummersgenocide does.  https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-elections/michigan-president-results

Uncommitted ****ed nobody and its plain as day.  Just more blatant dishonesty and bad faith poasting

The party should not be listening to a Nazi rapist.

Of the 9 people NYT identified as likely in the race it sounded like everyone but maybe the Brewery guy has some level of progressive cred. Unless Mills' campaign were to receive a zombie anti-dote, so far there doesn't seem to be much likelihood of a non-progressive emerging.

I understand your point, but they should listen to the 150k folks that voted for his political views.

Does he understand what office he’s running for?  Property taxes are not set by US senators.   This is an example of someone who thinks little of their voters.

Listened to Saager today on Breaking Points and he pointed this out as well, but then went through a list of people, on both sides of the aisle at both state and federal levels, putting up similar populist policies, some flat out calling for no property taxes once you own your home outright.  Want to make sure the next generation can't find affordable housing, because that would probably be the death knell.

would also note that virtue has no monopoly on practical political wisdom - for example Richard Nixon. There are a lot of guys I wouldn't want to elect that I'd still pay attention to. Not that Platner has proven anything like the bona fides of Nixon, but just to point out the general proposition that there is plenty of disunion in the Venn diagrams of Virtue and Wisdom.

I see the "your house is paid off, why do you pay property taxes" thing all the time and wasn't sure if i was a real belief or just rage bait.  It makes absolutely no sense.  A mortgage is a debt to someone that paid for your house.  Property taxes are to a municipality.  Those two groups have nothing to do with each other.  Of course many people merge the two "bills" into one so they probably think of it that way but that's their own idiocy.  The logic is horrible.  Should I not pay sales tax if I pay cash for a product?    What does a tax have to do with whether a product is paid off or not?

Plenty of people think civilization just pays for itself.

of all the taxes in the world that you get the most direct benefit from, it's property taxes.   And it's easiest to track and see how it's spent.

Rich people benefit. Poor people take on a higher percentage of the burden or services that benefit poor people get cut. Seems like standard GOP thinking. Stupid and selfish.
