We have no idea what Condoleezza Rice was doing at The White House today. But if she was offering any type of advice on Iran or wartime strategy related to this war, than LAUGH OUT LOUD! One of the architects of the disastrous Bush doctrine and the Iraq War should be giving no one, any foreign policy advice. That's like taking advice on business ethics from Ken Lay and Jeffery Skilling. This one was apart of an administration, as a National Security Advisor and Secretary of State, that doctored and grossly misrepresented intelligence reports to help rush America off to war with a country that was not a national security threat in any way, shape, or form to our country. From made up and/or exaggerated reports of WMDs in Iraq to Saddam trying to buy yellowcake uranium from Niger to build a nuclear weapons program, to mushrooms clouds over Manhattan to Saddam's "ties to terrorists", Rice was integral in all the lies the Bush Administration made. Not to mention this war criminal defended the torture of other human beings.

The only place she should be she should be walking into is in a jail cell in The Hauge after her war criminal tribunal is complete. If she had any role in human torture or the use of chemical weapons like white phosphorous or was provably apart of crafting the intelligence plans for invading Iraq (and we know she was), then she belongs in jail for war crimes and other international law violations.

Apparently, doing some further reading on Twitter, it seems that Rice was at the White House for a college sports related function they are holding. Hopefully, no one would listen to anything she has to say on foreign policy and intervention.

There will be many "Sure Jan" moments during this unjust, unconstitutional war with Iran. Saying the war will last a few days or weeks will be one of them. This is turning into Iraq 2.0 right before our very eyes.

History repeats with this administration in the absolute worst ways.

The incident unfolded shortly after the US Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq was also attacked with rockets, as the US-Israeli campaign against Iran continues to escalate.

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani indicated the attack was launched by a rebel group, saying that he ordered his security forces to find the perpetrators of the 'terrorist act of launching projectiles toward the US embassy.'

'The perpetrators of these attacks are committing an offence against Iraq, its sovereignty, and its security. These rogue groups that operate outside the framework of the law in no way represent the will of the Iraqi people,' the Prime Minister said.

I expect to see gas up around the $4 mark here in Metro Detroit within the next week or two. I think it's feasible that by April, if Trump's war drags on, that we hit $5/gallon.

an oil barrel is 42 gallons. assume yield to valuable product from the barrel is 90%. Normal refinery mark-up is about $10/bbl processed. For $110 crude barrel that's a base cost of $3.20 before retail markup and taxes. MI gas tax is $0.52 - so make it $3.75 before retail markup of about 10% which gets you to $4.10. Add the reality is if supplies get tight, refineries will jack up margins by another $10 barrel or so, and you are near $4.50.

I wonder where they came up with the 42 as the standard for a barrel? Not counting the barrel we're talking 300 lbs. Two guys could pick that up. Now there are billions of barrels traded. Kinda wild when you think about it.

I can't remember a time when the price of crude, no matter WTI or Brent, that it didn't hit our pumps.

This is way worse than Iraq. The impacts of Iraq were fundamentally local. The impacts here are global.

A huge  mistake Trump has made (among hundreds) is backing Iran so far into the corner that they have nothing to lose. At this point they are perfectly happy to see the whole Western energy economy in the toilet. What's it to them? Trump isn't offering them any off ramp worth taking. Iran knows all they have to do is hold out somehow for a little while 30 days, 60 at the most, and Trump will have to fold. $150+ $/bbl oil with every country at each other's throat trying to insure their own supply, employment down, inflation  up, every multinational will be pouring millions into political efforts to end this. He thought he held all the cards, but he should have read Dune "He who willing and able to destroy a thing is the one who controls it" That's Iran, the Straight of Hormuz and the world's energy economy.

Maybe Trump is trying to drive Iran out of the market so the US can gain a greater share of it and achieve greater pricing control? I’m not saying anything like that would work, I’m just saying that might be his thinking, and as we all know, no amount of expertise could ever dissuade him from his own assessment of the situation.
