Boy, the "PED era" had its share of statistical blips.   Not that we don't have PEDs around now but the gross abuses of this period in time were bizonkers and made games into basketball where you prayed you could somehow get that juiced up monster to pop up instead of hitting a walk off.

I still maintain that the rapid expansion, which diluted pitching staffs, and the introduction of juiced balls to recover from the strike were just as responsible for the offensive anomalies of that period as PEDs.

I figured cash considerations would be the move. Cash received in trade is deducted from your tax number, and a player who comes back would count against the Domestic Reserve list, which they are currently 10 over.

Agreed. He was much better than I expected. But even bad pitchers have occasional good outings. I hope the guy is consistent but his previous results aren't real encouraging.

I don’t understand the whole betting odds thing and don’t feel motivated to better understand it, but the betting odds are assuming that the Tigers are going to lose with Verlander pitching. I’ve seen various odds posted such as +100, +104, +120.
