monkeytargets39 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Skubal is allegedly already playing catch. I don’t know if that’s good news or not. Quote

If seems like when my fantasy baseball players comeback earlier than expected, they usually have a set back which keeps them out longer than originally expected!😀 Quote
CMRivdogs Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago There was a good article in The Athletic today that explains why their optimistic about Skubal's recovery. The new scope is smaller than what was the traditional scope, less stress on the muscles https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7274811/2026/05/13/tigers-tarik-skubal-elbow-surgery-explained/?source=user_shared_article&unlocked_article_code=1.ilA.uPLz._XuW6w8U-lvI Quote ElAttrache also did not offer a definitive timetable, though he certainly expects Skubal’s recovery to be expedited because of the less invasive procedure. “He doesn’t have to lose the time getting rid of the swelling, getting his range of motion back and getting over the pain,” ElAttrache explained. “You skip right over that, and then you can start exercising and (getting) strength and conditioning going. And the sooner that we do that and move onto plyometrics, which he’s already done, then you can keep the flexibility in the shoulder and elbow.” The hope is that Skubal can avoid a prolonged shutdown, which would force him to essentially restart a throwing program. “I think we eliminate that whole (resting) phase and get right to resuming training and in-season training for his entire body, especially his shoulder and elbow,” ElAttrache said. “You don’t have to worry about resting that. You don’t have to worry about causing more swelling when you get your blood pressure up and things like that. So he’d be able to get back and resume his progressive throwing program and build volume.” I guess you can come close to comparing it to say knee replacement surgery today vs a few years ago. My wife had a knee replaced in early November 2024. They used robotic surgery. Had her up and walking within a an hour or so after the operation, climbed a set of stairs and sent her home. She still used a walker for 6 weeks, but could get around without much pain.. Quote
monkeytargets39 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Melton has also been doing his rehab assignment. Hopefully we can get him back in the next couple weeks. Quote

oblong Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Alternate uniforms and Apple TV and a Bullpen day... a lot to complain about. Quote
monkeytargets39 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Yesavage has been great, which somehow means we will put a Berting on him before our bullpen gives the lead up Quote
IdahoBert Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Stop it! Stop it with all the optimism! Just leave me alone to cry in my nonalcoholic beer! I read An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge by Ambrose Bierce in high school. I know this isn’t going to end well! Quote

IdahoBert Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I’m awake and have a pulse ✔️ It’s hard for me to watch Tigers games because I no longer have mlb.tv ✔️ I have Apple TV ✔️ And I tune in just in time to see a two-run two-out double by the Blue Jays ✔️ Rewatch Plur1bus on Apple TV because the end of a world that makes sense and is spinning into the sewer is preferable ✔️ Quote
