So the injuries will be the thing the team and organization hangs this on.   But what if Baez, Carpenter, Meadows don't bring them out of it?   What if they continue like this?     Why is it seemingly impossible to suggest parting ways with Hinch?   It's not working.   We had a run there for a bit, but that was pixie dust.  Other than that August 2024 to June 2025 run, has this team every really been good with Hinch?

I wonder how much teams use the fact that they know the Tigers do detailed game planning against everyone to counterplan and come out pitching against type, so the Tigers end up wasting who knows how many AB before they realize their game plan was down the drain before they started.

I don’t want to see Wenceel Perez, Zack Short or Enmannuel DeJesus on the roster tomorrow morning.  Enough is enough.  Call up Jace Jung and give him a real look at 1B and bench Torkelson.  Call up Anderson, Malgeri and Sommers.

Stop running out the same garbage each night.

Ramirez could be a HOFer just based on his games against Detroit.

The offense is still on Harris.  He hasn't added one solid bat since he's been the GM.  But thank goodness we used the $13 million on Verlander and $30 million on Valdez.  Terrible signings

That was noted during the game. Coming into tonight Cleveland had the lowest first pitch swing percentage in baseball so knowing the Tigers would play to that they flipped the switch and swung early. And scored Big.

But I was told Hinch is the most brilliant manager in baseball.

We have been playing bad baseball for many months despite a good playoff run but I do not think Hinch is the problem. At least not yet.

shouldn't your battery figure that out after maybe two batters?

This has always been the limiting factor with tendency statistics about players/teams. If I measure the output tolerance distribution of a screw machine, the results are fixed by the fact that it is a fully determinant process. It will reliably produce exactly what my measurements predict it will. In sport, almost everything you measure about an athlete has some determinate properties, but it also always has an indeterminate component as well because what an athlete does is always subject to what he decides to try to do, and he can decide to change that at any time.

yup, It's a 94 loss pace now and still going down hill fast.

Soon the hope will be Skubal pitching well again so we can speculate on the deadline trade.

You didn’t seriously cite Kerry and gleyber May numbers.

I’m not disputing your conclusion. This team is ass right now.

But come on, bro.

Carpenter and Gleyber had good Aprils, we are not getting similar performances from them in Mays, and that’s a factor in the team’s poor numbers this month. Not sure what you think I’m not seeing.

I do think it’s fair to question Hinch’s recent inability to keep the team from playing like the walking dead.

it’s the same question from last Sept, and the problem is you can’t prove the negative. Is there something in prep, or clubhouse management or the subtleties of Hinch’s approach to individual players that would make a difference? Should he opt for a different set of or approach by the Tiger’s hitting coaches? Who knows?

on the flip side, besides Torkelson, who we know tends to be a head case about his approach, who is hitting badly that there is be a well founded expectation should be doing better? Mck? Perez? Rogers? Jones? We are playing a bunch of guys for whom the run from July of 24 to July of 25 was more likely the outlier of their career. The 3 guys out right now, Carp, Baez and Torres are the guys with track records in which you might have a level of confidence.

Rogers is essentially hitting like a pitcher. His offense is completely gone...at some point you can't live with that.

Perez might not be good...McKinstry has always been a fringe/gritty major leaguer. Tork and Keith were relied on and can't consistently deliver floor-level production. That's the killer
