Man, could they get off the air any faster? I remember when George and Al would spend a good 5+ minutes recapping things after the game…

Grandpa Simpson really has become the unofficial mascot for a lot of us posters here hasn’t he?  😂

I'm not disputing the seemingly prevailing sentiment on Lee at all. I had hopes for him coming out the minors so I love to see that most believe he's legit.

But as someone out of the area and bit able to watch many games and mostly following box scores, what is it about Lee that people like? His stats don't look bad by any means, but they don't jump off the page, either.

So just looking for some insights from those who actually see him play.

We suffered thru months of a RH hitter who couldn't hit his way out of a paper bag. Every hit Lee gets is a refreshing blast of fresh air. And he's pretty solid at 2nd base, he may be our 2nd baseman of the future. The kid can play!!

I can relate to him a lot better now than I could in 1990.

50-54. Not .500 yet, but I like that the win number and loss number both start with the same digit finally.

As well as moving up in a possible wildcard chase. But scoreboard watching in July? Yes please. 😅

Red Sox, Rangers, Astros win.

White Sox, Guardians, Twins, Mariners, Orioles, Jays lose.

In the Central, the Tigers are 5.0 behind Chicago, 3.5 behind Cleveland and 0.5 behind Minnesota.

In the Wildcard, the Tigers are 3.5 behind Cleveland, 1.0 behind Seattle, 0.5 behind Minnesota, 0.5 behind Houston, tied with Baltimore, 3.0 ahead of Toronto.

My Doc is a big Twins fan - Saw her recently and she said they are going up this weekend to see the games but the Twins always lose the games she attends. We can only hope!

3 games back in the loss column to Cleveland for the last wildcard spot. It's not even August yet, plenty of time to make up ground. I'm still waiting for the WSox to fold....last night was a good start. They couldn't hold a late 5-0 lead...

If you look at it solely from games back, there is reason for optimism.  However there are so many teams in the mix—if a couple go on a heater, like the Red Sox have, the task is much greater.

While this is true, we could be even or ahead of all but Cleveland after tonight.  Basically the number of teams isn’t as big of a deal IMO when so many are within 1/2-1 game of us.

The number of teams doesn't matter if we outplay ALL of them...

True.  But the bet that this front office has to make prior to the deadline is, will we?

When we are all basically even, someone has to win.

And I know it's a small sample size but it's still meaningful;

And since his return in June, he has around an .850-60 OPS.  His overall stats don’t look great because of his first time up.

largely because he is not an all or nothing pull hitter. He's not too proud to take a pitch where it's thrown. The flip side is he gives up some power potential hitting that way, but no worse an example than Miguel Cabrera was *always* willing to play for a single if the team needed the RBI.

the low walk rate is his weakness to work on.
