Motown Bombers
Liz Cheney voted for Trump in 2020. She supported over 90% of his agenda. If Cheney is a moderate, than so is Trump.

Does it matter he has been diagnosed with MAJOR mental illness and he personally in fact did not commit a violent crime? What if he gets the professional medical help he needs in prison? Yeah it matters, maybe why he didn't get 10 years. He DID commit a violent crime. Anyone that broke into the Capitol that day committed a violent crime. Tired of excuses for these criminals. He travelled there of his own free will and took part, mentally challenged or not, that's on him. I have little to no sympathy for those who attempted to overthrow our democracy and who would have killed our representatives if they had gotten to them. Every single one of those sons a bitches are mentally ill. Let Trump take 'em in. He could turn Mar-A-Lago in to a f**king hospital.
pfife
It would be nice if that's how the CJ system worked, but why should he get that when there are thousands of others also incarcerated with mental illness?
Motor City Sonics
The asshole who murdered our friend at Virginia Tech was mentally ill too. If he hadn't ended his own life, he'd deserve to be in prison now too.

Yes, most violent criminals are mentally ill or mentally damaged by neglect. And what he did on January 6th was violent.

I am more speaking to the fact that a few here think he should be locked away and throw away the key. Full disclaimer he should go to prison! BUT if he in fact serves his sentence and gets on the right medication could he not become a normal citizen again? He denounced Q and Trump, it may only be for a lighter sentence but he showed remorse and did not harm anyone.

Dan Gilmore
And the official proceeding was the certification of our elections. Disrupting that is committing violence to our country and constitutional form of government. A mob, even if not all members are actively breaking things, still conveys the menace and threat. Many were violent, and he went along with them. 1

And they came close to breaching the chamber while congress was still inside. There’s no way that can stand without serious consequences.
