At the back end of this, they should have had Trammell getting some hits and making some plays, and the very last shot should have been him flipping the ball to Lou, closing with a zoom-in on Lou

Anybody know if MLB.tv will show the ceremony?

Why would MLB want to promote one of its lesser franchises?  Now go put a wager on the New York Yankees or LA Dodgers or the Tampa Bay Going to Vegasses.

The other aspect to it will be the commentary during the ceremony about being snubbed by the hall of fame.  MLB won’t want to broadcast that.

Of all the horseshit and monotonous hype on the MLB website front page, nothing about Whitakers’ number being retired this evening.

Very conspicuous that neither Ilitch nor Avila were introduced.  Clearly to avoid being booed mercilessly.  They are on the stage but have had no role.

Very interesting.

A very smart move.............we're not used to that with this team.

Avila didn't smile or look comfortable the entire time as well.

Don't know why the Tigers don't call up JK Simmons more often...

I went to Kings/Wings game back in 2002 and saw him sitting at the stands, I called out JOHN and he looked up, I introduced myself as a Detroiter and he said So Am I and his handshake is as firm as you would think.     This was when he was playing Schillinger on Oz, so I am thinking people probably were scared of him and left him alone.
