I drink one or two 12-16 oz. servings of coffee a day. I grind Ethiopian beans and usually brew a rounded 1/4 cup in a French press. And if it allegedly helps me not have dementia I’m all for it.

Every morning, I wake up, and I smoke a cigarette. And then I eat five strips of bacon. And for lunch, I eat a bacon sandwich. And for a midday snack?  Bacon!  A whole damn plate!

And I usually drink my dinner.

I usually smoke my bacon. Either that or the bacon factory smokes it for me.

as long as your bacon factory's smoke doesn't comes in a bottle.

(although to be perfectly honest, what's in an actual fire probably isn't all that much worse than what's in the bottle.....🤷‍♂️)

I had a big battle with boredom eating. Basically a long commute had me picking up a "snack" along the way. My weight ballooned to about 250.

Right now health problems and reactions to medication has brought it down to around 155. It helps in a way my medication does no tolerate soft drinks well, and my appetite is a lot less than what it was.

I'm still trying to get in around a mile walking each day when possible. I still need to concentrate on light weight training to build muscle. 

Still a struggle but as a wise man once told me, "Take it inch by inch".

I am super lucky that, while blissfully ignoring my New Year's resolution by sitting on the couch munching a bag of shelled peanuts and watching TV after another day at the salt mines, I was motivated by a Vic Tanny ad in the Free Press on January 31, 1989, to go join up. As I remember the cost was $72 a year which was supposed to be fixed for a lifetime. I became aware six years later that the fine print allowed them to jack up the price after six years, which they did, to $99. Either way, because I was motivated to use the gym if I was going to have to pay for it, and I have been working out on the regular ever since, 37 years this month.

And here is that ad.
