  2. I think a lot of your stance here is sensible contrariness...worse still there is this. https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2026/04/20/election-security-midterms-voting-00872694?utm_content=topic/world&utm_source=flipboard I still think this Fall looks to be a blowout for the party that took the country to war and whose president has decided to fight a war against its own base. The real key though is all the retirements by the incumbent party. That is a known trend identifier in politics. The other key is fundraising by individual candidates. The Dems have that action in spades. Now couple the above threat to destroy the integrity of the vote with an almost unlimited ability to fund via dark money...you might have some chaos. ONE other thing that might cause chaos. The Virginia Gov deciding to make major gun rights changes before the April 21 (tomorrow) redistricting vote. The loony gun strokes might come out to vent their displeasure. I think the current money is on a 8-10 point win for the redistricting vote but the smoke from the gun crowd might be a cause for concern.
  3. I can do a 35s 200m, barely. I would have to be full out to even approach a 70s 400m and likely would fail. No way I can do a 2:20 800m. So if I sprinted I might have a chance of keeping up with the leaders for the first 1 minute out of a 121 minute race, lol.
  4. game opened at detroit -12.5. quickly down to detroit - 9.5.
  5. We need to vote all of these clowns out;
  6. From scouting and analyst reports I've read, McCoy seems like he would be the best CB in the draft were it not for his injury. I've read he has elite-level ball and tracking skills and it seems the dude creates turnovers and interceptions, which we need more of on defense. He has the speed (4.40 40 time), size, and athleticism to keep up with most any WR. He won't get out matched or mowed over in man coverage either, which the Lions like to play. The one knock I read on him was from Draft Buzz who said "Run support engagement runs hot and cold, takes conservative angles at times." We know that the ability to play the run and willingness to engage is one of the more important traits this coaching staff is looking for. I don't think he's bad against the run though or unwilling to come up and make a tackle.
  7. Let's play some trivia: Who are the Pistons top 5 defenders and disrupters? Easy answer: Ausar, Stew, Green, Holland, Reed. Which players played less minutes than usual? Yup, same list. Even in limited minutes that group had 7 of Detroit's 9 steals. Which players played more minutes than usual? Duren. Tobias, and Jenkins - all of whom were not playing well and should have lost minutes. The answer to the Magic making it difficult to score in the half court isn't to try to masquerade as a offensive team. We don't have the roster to be anything but a lottery level offensive team no matter who we put in there. And now the issue is worse because Orlando is scoring every time (as they did in the 4th quarter) and we have to go against their set defense every time. Complete backfire. You can't score in the half-court but you put in a lineup that makes you play in the half-court over and over again. The real answer is a defense that can get stops, steals, and rebounds and allow you to score against Orlando when they aren't set in their half court defense. This isn't new data. It's been this way for 2 years. The team is better on both offense and defense when Ausar is in the game. It's a fact. If the Pistons are going to come back in this series they have to address JB's lineups.

  9. This clip of Al Kaline is amazing;
  10. Possibly for now, but in general sport only tends to be clean temporarily in the aftermath of each crackdown, then in pretty short order the miscreants regain their lead over the gendarmes.
  11. Again, everyone (not on this site) seems to be acting surprised that this team has no reliable outside shooting and no creators not named cade cunningham. they brought in caris lavert to "create" for god's sake. lets see if duncan and/or huerter can get going in game 2. or tobias. they have to spread the floor cade to operate and duren to be effective rolling.
  12. DD was talking about Jack usually losing it after 10 more batters - if that were true you might able to use him in long relief in place of the way Hinch wants to use Anderson, but the 10 batters in thing certainly wasn't true tonight - 3 walks in the 1st 7 batters.
  13. i dont disagree, but i dont think he's particularly "skilled." we may be working off different definitions of "skilled." the bottom six could use an upgrade and anyone with a pulse is likely to fit that bill instead of rasmussen. but if they are running mazur and james next year, they'll need a big upgrade in the top six to make the playoffs. honestly, if trading danielson or kasper and some of their depth gets you a highly skilled player they should do it. because kasper and danielson arent playing like future 40 goal scorers, they're playing like future 40 point scorers.
  14. I heard he didnt, Skubal picked up the check. Keven to buy dinner...date TBD.
  15. I don’t think that’s true anymore. It used to be, but all the secret secrets have been revealed and they test for them. That doesn’t make up, however, for the studied conceit that the teams, their physicians and the UCI itself all okayed.
  16. I mean no since Wisconsin has elected the likes of Ron Johnson three elections in a row.
  17. The Doosan Bears would claim him in a heartbeat.
  18. granted, but retaking MI and WI is not a wave for the Dems, it's just getting you back to even.
  19. He'd have to go through waivers first. No way he'd make it. No Friggin' Way. I don't think Verlander is coming back until it's consistently 80 degrees out.
  20. James is a good skater From the highlights I've seen..James is a pretty good skater...I'm not going to neg him for not being Alex DeBrincat. No one expects him to be that. Even if it's true that he's going to be scoring mostly by driving the net...we sure as hell need that on our roster. Our bottom six is occupied by a lot of guys who shy away from physical hockey and they have a tendency to float through games. Again..from what I've seen, James would provide us with some of what we're missing on the bottom six
  21. I don't like them either. They are very little league-looking. Can we just go back to the button up version of these?
  22. Anderson needs to go to Toledo when Verlander is back.
  23. Anyone remember Jason Grilli & Daniel Schlereth?
  24. You know how I know you've never seen David Wells?
  25. I've thought of that but Flaherty is useless in the pen. Not even for long relief, if he can't throw strikes.
  26. Michigan historically and recently has been more to the left of Wisconsin. There’s also Virginia and New Jersey who had full state elections that Dems over performed.
