Kasper hasn't been medically cleared to play for Austria at Worlds, apparently he's been on crutches since the season ended with a knee injury https://hockey-news.info/nhl-export-kasper-ich-muss-im-moment-mit-kruecken-gehen/ (austrian link) I figured something was up but I wonder how long he was pushing through that

This is all true - from the roster perspective it is the way to go. The question is how risk tolerant are they about not having a backup SS until McK gets back? I suppose Lee can stand there in an emergency but game logs say he hasn't played any short since 2023 and only 7 games then so we might not get much more than him standing there!

Starting to feel like Linus waiting for the Great Pumpkin...but this is the game Duren comes up BIG -
I think this is true. The minority districts were positive in that more minority representation in government is good but it did create the negative aspect of less competitive districts. However, Citizens United and other gerrymandering malfeasance is killing that anyway.

I like it. What's the payout? -
The boring part of speculating is it could be for naught within the next few hours, so it hardly feels worth it. That said, it’s a low bar. So, I will say that I’m not sure a hot start by workman so far this year is enough to justify a 40-man spot, and I think Scott Harris is “loathe” to give those up without good reason. We know that Clark is likely to occupy a 40-man spot in the near future anyway, and for a long time to come. If you add workman now, that requires a move. If you add Clark in six weeks, that requires another move. I’m not sure giving a 40-man spot to workman for what might be a short term need is worth it. As for Clark being “ready,” I’m not going to put too much weight into GM speak. Even if they would prefer waiting, things changed last night. They can always send him back down when other options become available (and/or if he is struggling). He can play CF and bat 9th and we can see what happens.

Franz still questionable. I imagine they leave him with that status until tip where they rule him out. Better to keep the Pistons guessing and make them prepare for him. -

Hard to predict a win when they lost to a team that shot 33% from the field. -

My brain keeps doing the same mental gymnastics as well. Then I remind myself that we've only won about 2 quarters in this series and I come back down to Earth. -

every time i think about what they needed coming into this season it makes me mad: shooting, a shot creator other than cade, and a secondary ball handler. what did we get? a trade for ancient duncan robinson. caris lavert at the FULL MLE. and danniss jenkins on a two way contract. structurally, that's why theyre losing. -

i still think they can win. which says more about how low i rate the magic than how high i rate the pistons. if cade plays smart and fast and is tighter with his handle, they can win at home. stop forcing the ball to duren. and duren needs to get angry and PLAY HARD. rebounding is as much about effort as talent. duren is standing around and getting boxed out by wendall carter. sure, the pick and roll isnt working, but you can help the team other ways. work hard! - Today

It's not just Hinch though. I still think they are sacrificing reliable defense for flexibility by moving players around so much, but it's the way the game is played today.

I think Clark is not ready based on what we've been hearing from Harris. Harris said the same thing about McGonigle over the winter, but this is more recent. Cruz would be the logical choice if healthy, but he's still out. It will probably be Workman. They really need someone who can cover both CF/SS. If Baez is out for a long time, we might miss him more than we think.

I'm not sure this analysis is complete. Creating minority districts generally favor the GOP overall because it concentrates higher numbers of Dem voters into fewer winnable districts - IOW exactly what GOP gerrymanders try to do. Spreading out Black votes could actually create more swingable districts. In any case the outcome is going to be more complicated than this byline implies. It will certainly hit minority representation, but that's not the same thing as hurting the Dem party.

When we began downsizing, I got rid of burdensome things like lawn mower and snow blower. The yard we have now could easily be done with a rotary mower, I still have a weed wacker and snow shovel. The snow stuff did little good this past season as our two bad weekends were mostly ice. Will occasionally use the trimmer to clean up after the sub's lawn crew. My dad was in the lawn service business long before it became somewhat profitable (has it ever been?) Getting drug outs of bed at 5 AM is no way inspire a 14 year old to go into the business.

Never mind this nonsense, what about Trump grabbing Melania's ass!

It's probably less a matter of whether he could than that Hinch is loath to be without his Swiss Army knife roster.
