I've been around for 13 of those. -
Tim Robinson and Sam Richardson were absent unfortunately.

Jack White is a very dry wit. I think Eminem's bolt on appearance was meh. Jeff Daniels was pretty good. Shout out to the two ladies whose show that is normally. They were good. The lady who was serving as his assistant at the show is a cutie. She captured Michigan-chick-stressed-out-by-situation very well. If we are going to have Jeff Daniels, Eminem and Jack White as the go to celebrities, Jack is my favorite.

Before last night, there were seventeen different unique stretches in Tigers history in which we went 2-15 or worse across a stretch of 17 or more games. We did so multiple times in 1975 (twice), 1996 (twice), and 2003 (four different times!), but, incredibly, not 2019. Here they all are, and here was each team's final record for each of those seasons. Yes, I listened to Iyer wringing his hands. For better or worse, I don’t think Stevie is wringing his hands. And maybe his nonchalant attitude toward prospects is at issue here. Certainly none of us fans or none of the press would have balked if they called Cossa up around the all star game when articles like this were being posted about him: https://www.flohockey.tv/articles/15400654-sebastian-cossa-leads-nhl-prospects-to-watch-at-2026-ahl-all-star-classic They didn’t call him up and nobody knows their reasoning for it and nobody knows how it would have ended. Maybe it would have turned out great, giving Gibson more rest down the stretch and letting Cossa get a taste of the NHL. Maybe Cossa was destined to have a late season slump no matter what and it would have been a disaster. From Cossa’s point of view, he probably feels like he is ready to compete in the NHL. He probably feels like there is not annything else he can prove in the AHL. For all we know, he has gotten halfway through the last two AHL seasons playing great hockey, expected to get called up, didn’t, and got bored. Maybe he should be blamed for his late season sloppiness, maybe Stevie should be blamed for his slow handling of Cossa, but he needs to be in the NHL next year, practicing against NHL players, getting NHL coaching and training, and getting about 25 starts.

I don’t think there are nearly enough comparable circumstances to be able to draw any conclusions about a potential Skubal deal could look like. It’s true that we have not seen many elite prospects traded at deadlines. But we have seen those types of guys traded in offseason moves. So from a general willingness standpoint, it’s there. Limiting it to deadline only moves really cuts your sample size down. But for that matter, we did see Leo De Vries moved for Miller last deadline. Of course Mason miller and Tarik Skubal are different assets. If you want to argue to prove a point t you will say that Miller last deadline is far more valuable than Skubal this deadline. Maybe. Anyway, trades are hard. So I’m not surprised at all that it is hard to point to the same type of deal being made recently. But I also think it’s rare for a “best pitcher in baseball” type to ever be available at deadlines, so that’s probably a big reason this would be uncharted waters. The nice thing, if it were to come to pass, is that I don’t think the list of potential trade partners would be short. There is no issue of replacing a current guy in a lineup. You are subbing a legit ace for your fifth best starter. Thankfully this decision is still two months away. -
It' hard to get my head around trading Skubal. How did we get here ?

Colt Keith is a HUGE failure of this organization. I see a robot instead of an athlete and that's why I think he is pressing. the outfield makes sense to me since he can run , the arm will be lacking but it's a better compromise than his terrible infield play. Maybe left field with Greene moving to first as you mentioned ? -

I was talking in general terms but with the team Hinch has now it really doesn't matter but I would play Lee everyday at second base and Verling in center for evaluation purposes to at least see if they can be useful in the future. That and batting McGonigle- Greene-Dingler 1-2-3 and the rest is a coin flip. I have a feeling McKinstry is playing hurt and can't play shortstop so if that's the case then McGonigle must play shortstop which at least does have some evaluation benefit but I see him as third baseman. -
Just got through watching this. Pretty funny stuff.

I think that you are on to something.......... -
There is no way that the Tigers will resign Skubal. Add to that the Tigers will not get any immediate help at the major league level in a trade. At best they get 4 or 5 prospects which only about two of them ever reach the Tiger's major league roster as mediocre players. This is just my prediction based on the Tigers' trading history. I certainly hope that I am wrong.

Your playoff loathe of Duran is clouding your thoughts on where he ranks as a free agent, who else is available and what other nba teams will do. Nobody is gonna offer him this ridiculous low ball, the bulls aren’t going after better free agents cause there are few that are better and a bad playoff is a small sample for a young player.

or he’s Meada and continues to suck not every starter who moves to the pen is magically fixed and we need to stop thinking it

FTR, I don't think her mom's prostitution prevented her from learning how to hit but it didn't help.
-
Was going through corporate training and they identified their anti-Human trafficking policy and it stressed that any prostitution was in and of itself human trafficking. Which is pretty interesting. Had a parent of one of my softball players who was a former victim of trafficking and she told me a bunch of her stories. She was a very attractive woman but her daughter was terrible at ball. Her legal record prevented her from joining as one of the assistant coaches but she actually was an expert witness for several anti-trafficking organizations and consulted for the DOJ (when they cared about such things).

Seems like it would be easy to get people in that activity. Like any random “massage” place has to be a front for this, right? You tell me that next to a dollar general and check cashing place is where you can just go in and get an above board massage?

The end of Colbert’s show was great. Goose bump inducing then this last night. He did joke about it during his last monologue.

Right now you just go: C- Ding 1B- Tork 2B- Lee SS- McGonigle 3B- Keith LF- Greene CF- Vierling RF- McStinky DH- whomever Hinch wants to for matchup purposes/or Dingler when he needs a rest from the field. Probably Jones vs LHP and Workman vs RHP If by some miracle we have the lead in the 8th or 9th, then you can swap out Keith defensively for McGonigle and put Short in at SS. -
so for this season, Jack's best inning is his second with a 2.45 ERA. In the first inning of his 11 starts he has a 5.7 ERA with 6 walks, 15 K and 3 HR. But still, since for Flaherty so much of his success seems tied to his FB velo - it he can come out throwing hard that could be a key to better success in short outings. OTOH, throwing harder might send his command completely into the toilet. But what else are they going to do? They have to try to get some kind of value out of him.
