  2. the confusion about the SOH is real, and the media is not really interested in figuring out what is actually happening. Problem is, do you believe the corrupt, totalitarian regime? or do you believe Iran? No good choices.
  3. He can go to the AHL next season without passing through waivers, goalies get their ELC plus one year before they lose their exempt status. His ELC slid two seasons so right now he's in the third year of it.
  4. Love is a little strong...but I do enjoy watching him fill lanes on the break immensely. Definite resign...agree a max is maybe a bit much...so we'll see
  5. Harden and Mitchell on the perimeter. Allen and Mobley inside. Really tough matchup because it's not just about who you put Ausar on and if Cade will have the energy to guard the other. These are much better offensive creators than Bane who stands there and waits to shoot a three. Expect to see a ton of screens targeting Duncan and Harris to get them on Mitchell/Harden. Also, there are real concerns about foul trouble for both Ausar and Cade against some of the best foul baiters in the business. That's just the perimeter. On the inside you also have to deal with the fact that Mobley and Allen can totally shut down the inside and that's really the only place we can score. Allen is also a terrific offensive rebounder and we're not great at stopping that. If you're hoping for Super-Cade to save us, just know that he had a 44 TS against the Cavs this season. He also averaged 5.8 turnovers and was a -7.3 on the court. They had 4 matchups this season: Game 1: Loss 116-95. They killed us. They had everyone but Harden. Game 2: Win 114-110. No JD for us. No Allen or Harden for them. Game 3: Win 122-119. No Mitchell or Harden. Game 4: Loss 113-109. No Mitchell. This matchup is Piston's kryptonite because they can hunt mismatches on offense, get guys in foul trouble, and shut down the paint. We need our guys to get hot from three for a series to keep up with their ability to score since the paint will be very difficult to navigate, but that's just not really our strength.
  6. This plus a media that isn't 1000% hostile would do wonders for restoring some semblance of the rule of law.
  7. Will we see ron holland in this series? i hope so. tired of seeing duncan abused and missing threes. he puts the other team in the bonus almost single handedly. if he's not making threes there's little point to him out there. #freeronholland
  8. i dont think cossa can stay in GR. he'd have to pass through waivers. its detroit or bust. but i could be wrong on that. which would actually lower his trade value.
  9. "calf strain" might be detroit's secret weapon in the playoffs. i wouldnt be surprised to see harden or mitchell suddenly come down with a case of the "franz's" if it goes 6 or 7 games.
  10. cleveland is a bad matchup for detroit size wise because they can take duren's game away like orlando did. but theyre soft and their two best scorers are notorious playoff chokers. i think its cavs in 6, but if it goes 7 i think detroit will win.
  11. Pretty impressive given the competition. There are some rookies playing really well this season.

  14. Hey, Jesper Wallstedt is seven days older than Sebastian Cossa so it is no surprise that he is more advanced on his development curve. 🙃 Seriously, it is hard to know how much of the decision-making around Cossa is related to his performance and how much is related to the front office’s overall conservatism regarding prospects. I know there is concern about him losing steam at the end of the last two seasons, but if you go to AHL goalie stats and filter out goalies who have only had a small number of starts, Cossa is number seven in save percentage. Not bad overall. And remember these players are not accustomed to playing as many games as they play in professional leagues so conditioning can be an issue. And big guys can be a little slow in developing. The real story here is that the scouting staff apparently found a great prospect in Postava. It is encouraging to think about going into the season with Gibson as number one, with Postava as the backup, and Cossa being the number one in GR and getting some spot starts in Detroit.
  15. I wonder if Yzerman would have made that pick if he had had only one 1st rounder that year. Seems like teams with multiple 1st rounders in one draft often reach with one of them, although I have no data to back up my perception. And by reach, Wallstedt and Cossa were both rated as 1st rounders but I too am against drafting them in the 1st round - development time too long and unpredictable. The Habs got 17 starts this year from a 21-year old 3rd rounder and 43 starts + playoffs from a 24-year old 5th rounder.
  16. There is absolutely nothing dishonest about citing facts.
  17. I think Cade will get Harden and Thompson will be on Mitchell. Ausar could be swapped if one of the Cavs starts going off on Cade.
  18. In anticipation of meeting with Trump later this month, the Chinese have promulgated a series of rules aiming to nullify US sanctions on Chinese refiners. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/chinas-rare-defiance-of-us-sanctions-sparks-showdown-over-banks-021410787.html
  19. do you put thompson on mitchell or harden? jb cant put duncan on one of them, can he?
  20. just teasing you about your jalen duren love. 😉
  21. Are you paying attention, Trajan?
