He has the speed to turn some grounders into singles.

Scales needs to calm down. His commentary has actually gotten better with time, but he does not sound really comfortable as a broadcaster. He doesn't know when to stop talking and he talks too fast.

I imagine Harris and Robinson will get some rest in the final 4 games. Duren might sit out one or two of them as well. No reason to rest Daniss, Holland, Huerter or anyone else. I doubt Ausar will rest since he's trying to qualify for offseason awards. I highly doubt we'll see Cade, but I wonder about Stew. Seems like it might be good to get him a game or two to get back in the groove. Of course, playing Stew and/or Duren in the Charlotte matchup seems like a bad idea after what happened last time. We don't need any suspensions. -
Farthest ever now and if you were listening to the naming request from the crew, i'm not crying, you're crying.

I did some math and found that the band I have listened to the most in my life is Cheap Trick. Rick is my favorite guitarist, Bun E is my favorite drummer, Robin my favorite vocalist and Tom is tied with Gary from Rush as my favorite bassist. Once I figured all that out, I realized that they are my favorite band. I’ll see them at every opportunity. I know all the songs. I even play the air drums to “Ain’t That A Shame”. I do that part so well that a security guard at a recent show took notice and picked up a guitar pick from the ground and specifically handed it to me. 😆

I don’t think Benetti forces his humor. I think he’s just got the kind of mind that makes associations very quickly and is glib in a playful way. I hear him make a pun that no one picks up on and he lets it go. If he didn’t let it go, that would seem forced to me. I got the opinion that he and Dirks can be too much, and too tangential. It just doesn’t bug me much.

That second half was so fun. Philly had 60 in the first half. They scored just 33 in the second half. -

The 1:15 PM injury report flipped Cade and Stew to doubtful. A beat writer said neither one is in Orlando so it means nothing for tonight. But up until now they have been listed as out. Maybe Wednesday at home they will give it a go. Harris and Robinson are now both listed as doubtful. -
I could see someone like Lou Whitaker not even realizing he didn't have his regular glove. "It's just a glove, man".

All this time I just thought the rumors were because his daughter goes there. Big downgrade for him, kind of odd.

I think the answer lies within each player. At this level everything is so precise. Our own experiences aren't really relevant any more than it would be a weekend golfer comparing themselves to a touring pro. Some might prefer another glove and others might prefer the same. It's not one answer.

I had some folks I followed, but it seemed like the episodes where I would have to take the time to block a hundred trash feeds that got dumped on me got to where the site was a waste of time. The only thing I ever do on it now is read a link from here.

I was usually a pitcher and first baseman with occasional outfield when I played. My other infield experience would happen only in infield drills during practice or pick-up games with friends. The first baseman's mitt was part of the team equipment. I had one glove for everything else - pitcher, outfield, infield practice. I never played at a high enough level to need to think about different gloves for every position. I was a decent enough athlete, but once I turned 16 there weren't many opportunities to play unless you were really talented. It was a big high school, so it was hard to make the high school team. There was a town team, but that was all the same guys that made the high school team. I tried out for both, but I was clearly not in their league. I'm not sure how easy it would be to have different gloves for everything. Maybe it's the same as having four pairs of glasses (distance, reading, computer, sun)! I don't know. It's easy enough to adjust, but I lose them all the time. 😀

I'll bet Gores makes a deal to join the Tigers and Wings. It just makes too much sense. Share equipment, talent, fans, marketing...

Maybe they love Proctor. Maybe they don't love Proctor, but know that he'll probably be there at #17 and would prefer OT-needy teams drafting after them think they love Proctor. Releasing tidbits to the media is an art form.

I liked Inge - the team moved him around a lot and he sucked it up and did his best. He was a dumb hitter though. Not that's it's easy, but he was just a continual sucker for breaking balls out of the zone at 0-1. If someone had just nailed his bat to his shoulder on every 0-1 he'd have been a better hitter. -
I guess the very fact that Ras is still on the team is a reason I despair about their concept of what a team should look like. And I don't even care that much about 'finishing checks'. The game is almost too fast to spend too much effort on that. There's a place for it but too much time spent trying to line guys up for the big finish can just get you left behind trying to make a big hit when the play has already crossed the line away from you. What I do want to see is way more aggression pursuing the puck. Just to go back to Rasmussen and Solderblom - guys skate past Ras unaccosted up the side boards constantly, it's like he's not even there when a guy rushes past him. Soderblom was miles better at least at that skill, guys could seldom just blow by him. So when I say there are skillsets they just don't seem to look for, that's more what I mean.

I’m not trying to will this into existence BTW, but you have Charlie Campbell and Daniel Jeremiah both reporting that Detroit is eyeing Proctor. Most mocks have Proctor going in the mid-20s.

I noticed the other day that Bobby tends to spend a fair amount of time echoing Dan a lot. Don't need that. If you have something to add, add it, otherwise calm and quiet is OK during a baseball radio cast.

I use twitter primarily for baseball. I seriously do not enjoy politics very much and never have. The Republicans have always thought the Republicans were right about everything and the Democrats have always thought they were right about everything and I rarely saw any useful discussion between the two. Now I see even less, but I have become forced to follow politics the last ten years because of certain individuals trying to destroy my country for their own benefit,

So the "network" that runs FanDuel will be gone... I assume that DSN will take over that 'slot' on cable/satellite systems? Will the Pistons integrate into DSN? Or will they do their own thing? The entertainment entities between the Gores and Ilitch company merged into the 313Presents, which used to be Olympia and Palace Sports and Entertainment. So there is precedent to them merging some things and obviously they share LCA. Granted you have statues of the Red Wings and the Giant Steve Yzemran picture holding the cup so one would be forgiven to thinking it's a hockey arena the Pistons play in, but other than that they do have fair share of Piston props throughout the concourse. And this spring could be fun. That's gotta rub Chris Ilitch the wrong way a little bit, if the Pistons, a tenant, take over LCA. They built that big plaza out front for fans to party in for playoff games and...

Apparently POTUS is giving away 80+ years of flight crew escape and evasion TT&P in his rambling discourse today.

I think it would have to be related to the strength of cues that differentiate one situation from another. Take IF and OF. All the visual and spatial cues are different and the gloves are a lot different, so it's easy to keep two memory maps isolated. The nearer the conditions converge, the easier it will be for the brain to lose discrimination. So if I were going to follow my own theory, I'd want my 3b glove to feel a lot different than my SS glove even if the physical difference was modest just so my brain never lost the context. And like anything else, the ability of different individuals to keep subtle context has to vary, which may be part of the reason (far beyond just gloves) why some guys can move around position to position with so much less difficulty than others.
