i still have a hard time with this guy looking for trouble and running around with an assault weapon and then claiming self-defense when he gets beat up. i dont think you dont get to instigate and then claim self defense, but i havent been following it close enough to say. the fact that the jury has been out for three days is interesting. im not sure who that benefits. its obvious there is a lot of dissension in the jury room.3 points

I see Twins fans crying on twitter because they plan to trade everybody. What a great time to be a Tigers fan.3 points

It looks to me like Hinch is chewing out Correa for not bringing Verlander along.2 points

Yes but nobody wanted to pay for his second year of arbitration so I doubt anyone will want to pay for his third year. He could have done himself a big favor and listened to the team and batted right handed, making the necessary adjustments to improve his game. Then he might be making three million now but he didn't and he's probably going to have to sign for one million somewhere.1 point

I never understood switch hitters like Niko that are so terrible from one side of the plate yet they still stick with it. I mean could he possibly have been worse if he just batted right handed against righties?1 point

yeah - This wouldn't be the 1st time that transient public outrage led to an overcharge which led to an acquittal. You might think "Reckless Endangerment" or the like would have punished him for his stupidity without denying his right to defend his life. Some charge that would have been successful would at least have served the socially useful end of discouraging people from taking weapons into places were neither they nor the weapons were helpful.1 point

I really hope this isn't just setting me up for more misery, like the first 7 games of UM's football season.1 point

One can wish he was held accountable without dialing up the outrage, right?1 point

breaking some news here, I think. Dusty Baker was spotted buying Zach Short a cone at 31 Flavors last night.1 point

Really, what law was Philando Castile breaking when the cop unloaded 7 bullets into him? How about Elijah McClain? Breanna Taylor?1 point

Meeting the requisite money/years is always gonna be the biggest factor in his decision, but I still think one thing that Detroit gives him that he didn't have in Houston (and wouldn't have most other places) is the chance to be *the* guy. Like, he'll probably be batting somewhere in the 2-4 slot and, at least for the first couple of years, he'd get to be the face of the franchise. That may or my not matter much, but it seems like a nice benefit1 point

theyre about to lockdown in germany and austria again despite relatively high levels of vaccination. are you ready for this continued cycle for the next five years? ten?1 point

26! oy vey, just a baby. 🙂 usc is a blue blood program with a large, rich fan base and a long history and expectation for success. they are like michigan (only more successful because they got to play their bowl games at home) as a big time program who is no longer elite. usc-ucla used to be a really big game. now its nothing. heck, usc-notre dame used to be one of the biggest games every year and now no one really pays attention. i think theyre hurt because they are in los angeles and no one in los angeles cares unless you are winning. bandwagon town unless youre the dodgers or lakers.1 point

I didn’t say they were better off dead, I implied that the world is better off without them. I apologized for lumping both of the deceased together. One clearly had some issues, but I feel bad he’s dead. The other, he should have had a much more horrible, painful death. Guess that’s the old conservative in me that just can’t agree with more progressive organizations like NAMBLA. Am I really that horrible of a human being for not giving a shit about a man that molested 5 boys between 9-11 years old? Fitting that he wasn’t supposed to have contact with anyone under 18 and In violating that again, he wound up dead. That sounds like justice to me.1 point

Among all of the individual rivalries and in state battles between schools in the Pac there has always been one thing in common. Everyone hates SC. I get it. SC has a very cocky alumni base that thinks very highly of itself and it’s past accomplishments. Honestly, it’s very similar to UM only with more trophies. The mascot is a high horse so it’s only fitting that we act that way. It’s actually only gotten worse as the academic standing of the university has skyrocketed over the last 30 years. I actually love the Stanford band. I am also a big fan of the renovated Stanford Stadium. Great place to watch a game and one of the only venues left that will still let you freely go in and out with a handstamp. Halftime tailgating is an awesome concept.1 point

I think TP would even hate himself if he were the offensive coordinator. I could see him simultaneously calling plays only to then complain on here about it right after if the play doesn't work out.1 point
