Lotteries stink. They don't work and somebody always gets screwed.2 points

The fun of implicit bias is that many of the biases are completely unrecognized and unintentional. That doesn't mean they are not there. That's why it's important to consistently reflect on past decisions. Also to holistically look back at the major trends instead of focusing on the anecdotes.2 points

There are QB's in every single draft (obviously some are better than others...) so... I am fully on board with building this team up and then grabbing the right QB at the right time... Even if we finish in the 12-ish draft pick range next year and have to trade (3) 1sts + more to go up and get whoever is the 2nd QB between Young and Stroud if they are our true QB of the future... When it comes time to pay the price to get our QB we just... Pay the price.2 points

So the married boss turning 40 in the spring has been flirting at the office for weeks. Finally worked up nerve to take his young secretary away on overnight trip. Checked in to the hotel, went up to the room, she was in the bathroom getting herself more comfortable. But by time she came out in lingerie he had already bolted down to the lobby and out the door to the airport. Took the next flight home and asked his wife to overlook his silliness2 points

Rumor is he was going to take the Minny job but then was reminded that he would have to face MCDC twice a year and he figured he'd rather take his chances with Ryan Day and OSU.2 points

this. The draft order does what it's supposed to do, which is to help cycle teams and the league toward greater parity. If teams are abusing the system find another way to dis-incentivize the behavior instead of throwing out something that actually does what it's supposed to.1 point

The whole purpose of a draft is to allow the worst teams an opportunity to improve. Why convolute that principle when it likely won't impact perceived behavior?1 point

I would almost prefer to see a reverse type draft of bottom teams. Reward teams that try to be competitive but fall short. Playoff teams would then draft in the usual fashion.1 point

I believe it's a fallacy that teams are incentivized by draft picks. Teams do get in situations where they need to rebuild, and so they trade veteran talent for future assets. This causes them to lose games, which as a byproduct, gives them higher draft picks, which leads to better players and winning games. You can bemoan this cycle, but it is a part of sports, and really isn't a problem. I love watching a team gather young talent and rebuild, even if they struggle for a while. A greater threat, to me, would be the loss of revenue sharing and the competitive balance tax and penalties. Without those you're back to the Yankees and Dodgers being able to buy all the top talent and create a competitive imbalance. Giving weaker teams the opportunity to rebuild and preventing too much of an economic disparity among teams regarding access to talent are two key issues. I'm all for getting younger players more money, however, without shortening free agency.1 point

Expanding post-season is the worst idea ever...Well, other than putting a runner at second base in extra innings. It cheapens the regular season and makes the post-season even less meaningful than it already is. I hate that they are trying to mold baseball into a generic sports no different than any other.1 point

The arrogance of insisting on playing shortstop when ARod was acquired turned me way way way off.1 point

Single stage snowblowers are simply worthless. Anything more than a couple inches of powdery snow, and it clogs like crazy. Being in NW Ohio though, the expense for a two-stage model is hard to justify. $1000 or more for something you pull out of the garage a couple times a year is just too much for me to swallow. So, I continue my battles with the clogs and end up shoveling the heavy stuff, which goes against the very point of owning a snow blower... Oh, and don't get me started on the idiocy of buying a corner lot in a neighborhood. Moronic. I shouldn't have been allowed to have children...1 point

They said 12-16 inches on Tuesday Drew & Mike Snow Total Formula. Take the lower number of what the local news says and cut in half. Most of us got between 5 - 8 inches of snow. Drew & Mike for the win --- again.1 point

I just don't think he expected as much of a unified approach as he has gotten not only internally here in the states, but with NATO states at large. On the former point, as much intransigence exists and as much as guys like Tucker talk about how we need to leave Russia alone, the reality is that the majority of GOP politicians seem to be either relatively behind the President's approach in terms of moving troops to Eastern Europe or advocate for being more aggressive (ie.things like Sanctions pre-invasion). In other words, I think he expected a lot more division in the US than has manifested itself. On the latter point, NATO countries seem relatively attuned to their aggression, particularly more than they were a week and a half ago. Countries are sending supplies and aid to Ukraine. And even Germany, which has been relatively beholden to Russia because of North Stream 2, seems to be signaling that an invasion would follow with sanctions. Putin expected a divided west and ultimately he bet wrong. I dont know if he will invade or not, but I suspect that the goal from a diplomatic POV is to come up with an off-ramp so he can save face / declare a victory.1 point

Sorry, Had to rub it in a bit. After watching three weekends of snowmageddon only to see about three inches of the stuff that was easily taken care of by solar snow removal. (The mess a few weeks ago doesn't count, we were too far south and in a bit of a snow/rain hole. I blame the I-95 fiasco on idiot truck drivers who always tend to drive to fast through that corridor. Hang in there, stay safe..1 point
