if you can gain 100 normals or independants for every 10 wacko progressives you lose (and probably never had) that's a net win, so f*** them all.3 points

In my view, all the above are damaged goods. They all caved to Trump in the end. They failed under pressure. As a conservative, I am hoping for a restart in the Republican Party after November.2 points

I think it was Mayor Pete that I saw on TV last night, he looked at the different careers and accomplishments Coach Walz has had and noticed that every one of them was about empowering other people to be their best. Very insightful from Mayor Secretary Pete1 point

Harris/Walz with a lot of momentum showing in the polls. Unclear so far what is just a news 'bump' and what is broader momentum, but they won't need to keep up this rate of movement for long to reverse previous assumptions about this election. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2024/us/elections/polls-president.html1 point

I'd make it as more likely they don't have staff, or maybe DJT is hoarding campaign funds to take with him if he loses, than that they are really broke.1 point

what if . . . Riley is our 1B of the future? He should be able to hit enough. And it might keep him healthy.1 point

I happened to see a tweet from Hawley with that phrase. wasn't interested in doing a lot of digging on it, though. also, yes, projection.1 point

Just wanted to add PBS Frontline aired a very good retrospective on Biden's career last night. I'm sure it's available on line, especially if you have the Passport App ( yes, it's a plug). I have a feeling most of what they aired was already produced before the events of previous weeks. It did point out that at least in the beginning Obama and Biden really didn't have the best relationship. Biden resented being the but of some of Obama's jokes in his speeches. He was also stung by Obama backing Clinton in 2016. Beau's death also affected him both emotionally and physically more than he lead on.1 point

Honestly, if you look at the control problems, many seem to be Ump-related. Not sure if it is movement related but lots of should be strikes seem to be called balls by these AA Umps.1 point

I don't rate her terrible for voting against the infrastructure bill. If she also said something objectionable about it in the process, though, I'd reconsider that. I haven't seen where she classifies Jews and "good" or "bad". I do remember about the "all about the Benjamins" comment and she was raked as antisemitic for that—is that what you're talking about? Because that comes from a hip hop song that to my knowledge has nothing to do with antisemitism.1 point

I do find it ironic that Harris and Walz are considered the "Youth Movement". They are about the same age as Barack Obama who served two terms and has been out of office 8 years. Love the Harris/Walz ticket. But I also think we have to learn our lesson. In 8 years, Whitmer will be 60. Many of the young up and comers won't still be. It is amazing what the Democrats have pulled off in the past few weeks. I like the deep bench, but also not a bad idea to keep the farm system filled with actual young people.1 point

I hate Tlaib (She's my rep) because she doesn't have any courage. There's some things that are easy to condemn and she refused to do it. I will never vote for her. If every other vote was counted and it was my vote that would determine the control of the US House I still wouldnt do it.1 point

He started in 74 with the A's. I first heard him do the Red Sox games from 80-82. He was a geat announcer and hilarious. I don't know why they let him go. Then I heard him do Oriole broadcasts after that. I agree Miller and Morgan were a good team. I thought Morgan got unfairly targeted for being an old school analyst. That's the way they all were back then (and a lot of them still are).1 point

I liked him on national games. It was a travesty he got kicked out of Baltimore.1 point

Same here. 6:40pm starts aren’t great coming down from Vancouver BC because it’s rush hour traffic from Everett on in. I had some free time this week if the Tigers were dojng better, but little motivation for a day trip. I’d attend a game to watch this team if the stadium was within walking distance of my house1 point

It might have to do with their feeling so marginalized and persecuted—even though Christians are a supermajority in this country—that any representation in above-ground media is like catnip they just have to keep going back to over and over.1 point

Like a lot of communities around here, our garbage contract was under GFL, who got bought out by Priority Waste. It's been kind of a **** show. But that's not my problem. My problem is the compaints. Get over it. I don't care if my can sits out there another day. These workers are doing their best. It's been hot as balls and it's not a glamorous job. I'm sure it's hard to find employees. I just wish that worrying about the garbage pickup was the biggest concern of my day. Life must be great if that's on your mind.1 point

The fact that Harris isn't at 70% against these two ****ing clowns is an indictment of the dark American soul.1 point
