The media is failing to properly explain the issue. TWO incidents took place. 1. A female ANC employee was assulted by a member of the Trump campaign. 2. The Trump campaign illegally held a campaign event in Section 60 of Arlington National Cemetary. Just because the woman involved in Incident # 1 failed to press charges - that does't negate Incident # 2. I do not know who would enforce/procescute Incedent # 2 but someone should. I agree with article that an Investigation / Oversight Committee should be formed to look into the issue.4 points

Just shows you what a scumbag he and his followers are. He gets shot at and everybody is supposed to be empathetic towards him but his people can attack people doing their jobs and it’s all a joke. **** him and **** those people cheering. They deserve to suffer.3 points

I still have my authentic warm-up jacket that Sparky's wearing in that photo. It seems unfashionably short by today’s standards, and although I’ve never washed it it’s somehow tighter today. I guess things can shrink in the closet over a span of 40 years.3 points

I just thought we needed a double play and it happened. I wish I had thought I needed $1 million. That’s not being too greedy. It doesn’t go quite as far as it used to.2 points

I remember watching Tram hit that grand slam off of Dan Quensenbery (sp?) Nobody hit that guy and it was totally unexpected. I'm not sure if it was in 84 or not.2 points

It turned out that he was better in 85-87 than the year they won the World Series. The thing I remember most about that signing was being shocked that the cheap Tigers actually signed an expensive player. That was back in the period where they had a free agent "draft" in which teams selected the players with whom they wanted to negotiate. All the big money teams would draft Reggie Jackson, Rollie Fingers and Dave Winfield and the Tigers would draft Mick Kelleher. I was intrigued when the Tigers drafted Evans, but there were about 15 other teams that also drafted him and I never thought the Tigers would get him.2 points

McKinstry is our best hitter right now. He's not stinky at all. Greene is another story.2 points

"ones", not quite "boy" but I'm sure it's heard the same way by the target audience.2 points

I'm biased of course, but the they way Bash pleaded for more "Is that all?" just encapsulated exactly how needy the media is for click bait as opposed to substance. I just don't think it plays badly at all.2 points

I noticed that. His face isn't nearly aged as a typical ball player. He was a DH, got a lot of shade. He got choked up there.1 point

Almost every meal I really like has nearly 100% of the sodium I should take in in a single day so you’re probably right about this.1 point

I haven’t been to Chipotle in a while, but I just saw an ad for it on the mlb.tv feed and the guacamole looked really great. And I had no idea that they employed attractive models at Chipotle so that’s another reason to go there.1 point

When I think back on it, there was only 16 years between championship seasons. At the time, it seemed like forever. I was 8 years old in '68 and watched them but I really didn't get it. In 84, I was 24 years old and lived and died daily, depending if they won or lost. But man, it's been 40 years!1 point

They had a need for a corner infielder and he could still hit - 30 homers and a .378 OBP in 1983. It was considered a major signing at the time.1 point

I could be wrong, but I think Darrell Evans was brought to Detroit in part to be the veteran presence for a playoff team. Or maybe that's just how it was remembered. The irony to that is that 1984 was his first playoff experience.1 point

This is Project 2025 in a nutshell. The woman employee of ANC will now be one of the first to hang or be thrown out a window or to accidentally eat polonium or whatever methods that Mike Flynn or Erik Prince learned from the FSB controllers.1 point

CNN bungled the whole thing anyway with all the extraneous production time - and the fact that they ran so many commercials. The actual interview was so chopped up and had such long breaks that it was pretty much guaranteed to keep anyone from getting much of a focus on Harris - which was probably fine by Harris but just highlights CNN's incompetence as a new org. CNN was more interested in marketing themselves in that hour than actually doing the 'news' thing, which would have been to run at least a 1/2 hour interview uninterrupted. But that's the corporate reality. But to a degree it's always been this way. The very best interviews before the 1960 election weren't done by Cronkite or Murrow or Huntley/Brinkley, they were done by Jack Paar on the Tonight show.1 point

Once upon a time there was a 35 pitch an inning limit. Not sure if that's still around, but maybe that could be it.1 point

I was rubbing my head clockwise and my belly counterclockwise when he hit that home run. I don’t know if I can ever find that recipe again. Oh no…1 point
