Benetti and Petry is a great combo. Dickerson and Dirks is a great combo. That's what I would like to see most of the time.

GO TIGERS! I love my Tigers letter jacket. I wish I could wear it tomorrow to show off, but it was 94° in Boise Idaho today and tomorrow morning, when I go for a walk, it’ll just be too darn hot. This picture is from mid-April two years ago. Winter extends late in Idaho, and summer does as well. GO TIGERS!! This is great!

Same. Dickerson is pretty much the same with whomever is in the booth with him, and Dirks is at his best with him. Benetti is too easily distracted when paired with someone who tries to match him at his own game. He's at his best with someone like Peaches or Gibby, both of whom tend to be far more game-focused.

I managed to get tickets on the bullpen wall for game 1 vs Yankees. I wore my "Now entering the Zumaya Zone Speed limit 103", he got a kick out of seeing it.

My wife and I set up a driving trip around Lake Michigan to watch the leaves change from October 8 through October 11. We were to go clockwise around and stop in Menominee (du dooooo, du-dudu), Mackinaw City, and Manistee. We were talking on the way back to the car after the White Sox winner last night, and we decided if the Tigers make the LDS, we would start on October 9 and go to Detroit for the game; then drive up the east side of Michigan to Alpena on the 10th; go across the top of the mitten, swing through the TC area, and end up in Mackinaw the night of the 11th; swing around to Menominee (du dudu du) on the 12th, and then home. I’m rooting for the second itinerary. Du dooooo, du dudu, du dudu, du dudu, du dudu dudu du du dudu du.

I remember it too well. Something worth recalling as a warning for sure. The 2006 Tigers, though, were stumbling for much of the last 1/3 of the season. Even though the end of that season was humbling, this club is still ascending. And we now have a more mature version of Nuke LaLoosh. The 2024 Tigers are a tidal wave minutely focused on single games that are like tiny islands in the South Pacific. We bat a 6’ 5” power hitter leadoff. New rules, new ways of managing. If how things “feel” makes a difference this situation feels different.

I would make the argument that from the non-pitching side of things that Kerry Carpenter is the team's MVP. Look at their record with him and without him.

I really like that aside from Skubal and Olson, all of the other pitchers are used largely situationally and no one seems to have an ego about it because it’s worked so well.

Major props to Hinch for the early hook before the wheels come off. While this might complicate pitching decisions later in the week, I LOVE the "win now" urgency.

I love Benetti and I'll be thrilled to have him for as long as the Tigers possibly can. I have no problem with him working other games, and don't take it as some slight on the Tigers that he does so. He does go off the rails occasionally, but that's OK with me. He's a marked improvement over Mario and Shep, and that's all I care about.
