  1. More fail as usual. Mark Cuban doesn’t own the Mavs anymore. He sold the majority stake. Making your post even better, the idiot that owns them now is one of Trump’s biggest personal donors.

  9. MAGAs have no clue about how science and research work, so they don't care. They will love this move and will not consider that many lives will be lost and many people will be unemployed.

  10. I have a hard time believing that people who confirm the likes of Hegseth and Gabbard and eventually Bobby Jr will do anything down the line. If the House flips they could impeach him a couple more times but I don’t see the senate flipping in ‘26 and the Senate, I don’t think, is required to have a trial. His people can break the law but the FBI won’t go after anybody. The US atttorneys won’t investigate. Judges won’t be able to stop everything and trump will just pardon people who do break the law. All norms are gone.

  11. The thing that worries me is that while the ship of state is sinking because of the unfit captain and his unqualified first mate, many close friends and relatives will be drown because of budget cuts that removed life boats and vests

  12. It’s funny. It wasn’t really that long ago. The way I remember going into the offseason was that guys like Tork and Baez were members of the team but in name only. They wanted to add a right handed bat and some pitching. They had holes basically at first and third, but also guys with positional flexibility so it wasn’t that rigid. We heard news that Keith, Malloy, and Vierling maybe were going to work on 1B over the winter and in the spring but “just for flexibility” as if this didn’t signal very clearly that Tork is dead to them. I don’t know if they were specifically looking for a 2B, but because they do have flexibility with their athletes it opened them up to considering those guys, in particular guys that are specifically looking for 2B opportunities for their own career. Torres at 1/15 is an incredibly good deal, especially for a team that wanted a right handed bat and had a potential opening at 2B. You cannot pass that up at that stage of the offseason.

  18. Man, G2, I’m sorry. I thought when you said established hitter with a poor glove at 1B you were referring to Tork and that sent me spinning. I’m still not sure what’s real at the moment. I need a minute.

  19. It’s definitely possible that Scott Harris and AJ Hinch are idiots and didn’t think of any of this, and just made a huge mistake moving Colt Keith off of 2B. Yes, I’m appealing to authority. There is an information deficit that allows it.

  21. It feels like nothing less than a campaign to remove women from all public spheres of power and influence and releagte to them to kitchen or bedroom where, I guess, they belong or something. Except for the "ugly" butch women. Who'd wanna marry those woofers anyway amirite. They can go to work in machine shops or as theater tech or baristas or driving cabs, or else maybe expatriate to Paris where they can write impenetrable plays and smoke opium.

  24. I think it depends on your circumstances. If you're young, making mid-five figures, and up to your eyeballs in typical young person debt, then hell yes, take the money. If you at or near retirement age and you already have 10 Ms in the bank, then why not take the coin flip?

  25. I think all teams of mid-size payroll+ are going to have 25-40 mil of payroll 'lost' in players per say. Right now we have Javy (though he could still be decent - we at least hope). They added Cobb & Flaherty on 1 yr deals pretty much. In '28 those deals, in addition to Javy's, will not be there. Who will we have on the roster then as 'lost' pay per say. It is not a question of 'if' - just who. Is Bregman, say at 20 or 25 mil to be one of them ? If not there will be someone else if not a couple others at least - if we are/remain a mid range salary club. Again I say Front load the deal as you suggested earlier. If not have Plan B & C in the wings. The Tigers are good 'now'. We have Skubal, we signed Torres, Flaherty, Cobb, etc. obviously the FO is trying to move forward this year. That and of course building the farm system which is IMHO the most important thing, and they are doing just that. Kudos big time for that. FWIW, even Jose Iglesias might help as a 'Plan C'. I know many here would frown on that, say give it to the youngsters. We will have plenty of time for that and are doing just that. Not every position has to be filled with someone under 25, especially since we are a potential playoff team. All good teams have veterans. We could use a decent RH bat who plays well in the INF (3B) regardless if it is a player who is blocked who is young or a vet.

  26. I think its only useful information as a marker of the lust for our guy out in other fan-bases. Tork is a great MLB the Show player. I assume the Giants organization has not been lobotomized.

  28. At this point, Bregman will become one of the biggest pariahs in Detroit sports history if he signs elsewhere. This has become very emotional and personal for Tigers Twitter.
