what difference does it make that people didn't see it coming? In the end Trump still won the votes he needed and she didn't.1 point

The issue isn't that people think Whitmer turned MAGA, it's that she went to DC looking to negotiate with someone who doesn't negotiate in good faith and got absolutely played. It shows terrible judgement.1 point

Here to remind people that over three million more people voted for Hillary for president than for Trump.1 point

Lando might have more talent. But Piastri makes fewer mistakes. Bearman was great tonight. 20th->10th is amazing. I think he has scored points in 3 races this year. Why the hard tires, Ferrari?1 point

Wins are losses are what drives the standings. But I like to look at series during the regular season and how a team maneuvers through that chapter. Taking the first two games of a series is just absolutely empowering to me. It means that series is likely won considering most series three games. Or it could mean its been at least tied in terms of a four game series, or even lesser so, swept for the rare two game series. Teams don't want to give up a game going into it, and at the same time, they have to pick and choose spots to play the rest vs rust game with the roster. The Tigers have played five series so far, counting this one in Minnesota. We know they were swept in Dodger Stadium, but I still contend that the 0-3 wasn't as bad as it would seem on the surface. They held their own in the series and could have just as easily left with a 1-2 or 2-1 record if a couple of close plays go the other way. That asterisk aside, the Tigers have started each of the next four series by winning the first two games in each. It probably isn't measurable, and I don't know how to prove it as a theory. But I think there's something to taking command early on in a series that can sometimes just crush the souls in the other dugout.1 point

Very slow starts from some of last years HR leaders. Most of these number are through 15 games. Yordan Alvarez: 1 Anthony Santander: 1 Juan Soto: 1 Vlad Guerrero: 0 Gunnar Henderson: 0 Ketel Marte: 01 point

Yes, but on two separate devices, though: phone for the audio, some other device for the video.1 point

Of the Tigers 5 losses this year 1 was in extra innings and another 3 were by 1 run. They also have had leads in all but 2 of the games. They are a collective 2-4 in extras and 1 run games so with optimal luck they could be looking at an even better start right now.1 point

I did my taxes today. Always do them late so I don't give the city my money any earlier than possible. I always owe them because I don't work in town and pay the difference because we pay higher taxes than the other town because we suck more. As far as investments. Had an interest 1099 (doesn't count toward city) to turn in. Made almost 5% doing nothing more than playing short term bond ladders all year. This was money from my bank account that pays .01% if I let it sit in the bank and do nothing. I can't imagine why my personal banker didn't tell me about that? Especially since they tell me they want to insure I get the most out of my banking experience, while never telling me how, or fix any problems they have ****ed up. What a world...1 point

Tied for the best record and run differential in the AL.1 point

Tigers scored 4 runs, Spencer had two runs scored and 3 RBI. So basically Torkelson 5, Twins 0.1 point

It's a little early to be writing them off...but I agree they don't look impressive. The Tigers on the other hand are giving me a really good feeling. Last year was fun, but there was luck involved. This year, there is no luck about it so far. They are just playing great ball. Their hitting will likely slow down, but their pitching should get better. For what it's worth, I was just looking at their playoff odds on fangraphs and B-ref and they have the highest probability of any team in the American League.1 point

I think I like the composition of this team better than I did the '06-'14 run. The current team is more balanced overall. And the last half of that older run, I always felt there would come a time when the contracts (vmart, miggy, etc) would become albatross-esque and there would need to be a rebuild. Harris really does seem to have the franchise on a more sustainable positive path1 point
