  2. 0-0, really fun period, if these teams play each other in the playoffs it should be a good match up. Overall I thought Finnie and Lombardi looked really good, Finnie is really intriguing. ASP looked great on the power play, at 5 on 5 he seems to work well with Buium though they did get hemmed in their own zone at one point. Cossa looked really good, made a couple saves with traffic in front of him and looked calm/composed. He even made a nice play on a puck that Rockford tried to ring around the boards, knocking it down with his stick. Danielson's hockey IQ is evident, he does a good job erasing plays coming on the backcheck. He had a couple nice passes on the power play, flubbed a 5 on 5 scoring chance. He's playing PK and PP as well as line 1 C. Tuomisto looks like an AHL guy to me, foot speed just isn't enough to make up for being out of position at times. Johansson looks pretty good carrying the puck, didn't notice him a lot. Wallinder seems like an adventure out there but more often than not gets the job done. MBN took a dumb penalty trying to do too much on a forecheck. He does seem to be looking for his shot a lot which I like. So far I would say it looks like ASP could play for the Wings next season no problem, he's very noticeable against AHL talent. I'll stop flooding the thread with my thoughts after this 😂

  3. When I first heard Greg Gania’s voice on the radio I thought it was Dan, but it sounded like Dan was hyper excited and talking fast like he’d just snorted a Tony Montana sized pile of Coke. Great game!

  19. Yeah, it's funny how many fans have been name-dropping Chris Shelton wrt to Tork's current resurgence -- not here, but other places for sure -- while taking it as a matter of faith that Keith is gonna start mashing any day now because... reasons. If anyone should be compared to Shelton right now, it's Keith, not Tork.

  23. 20 games is a perfect sample. Do you know why? It's because you can multiply everyone's stats by 8 and get a super-precise prediction of what their total year performance will be. Tork is going to hit 48 home runs, and his 144 RBI will be fifth highest in team history, Greenberg has the top 4.

  27. Think of Black Mirror as a modern day Twilight Zone. Most have a theme surrounding some type of technology and a unique twist at the end. They can all be watched completely independent of one another. My favorite episodes: White Bear USS Callister White Christmas Hated in the Nation San Junipero Common People, Plaything, and Hotel Reverie are all really good from this season. I’m still waiting to watch the final episode which is some type of Callister sequel.

  28. Even though Adduci senior was an angry drunk I do give him credit for showing his son the ropes and loopholes when it comes to the MLB. He surely was the one that taught him to keep tabs on returning players and to make sure you get "injured" right before they get called back up so you can still collect an MLB paycheck.

  31. Harris & Co can't play around here. Tigers are on fire right now, but they will slump at some point and this division is going to be close - you can't afford throwing games away just to save face. Swallow your pride, admit you made a mistake and then move on. I am guessing Chase Lee or Jordan Balazovic are the most likely with Foley being hurt. Lee's on the 40 man, so he's probably closer. Montero is a starter and they probably don't want to disrupt that. Enns has pitched okay, but he's not on the roster.

  38. I've been following updates. We'll see how he does in the upper minors. So far he looks good at WM. I love stories like this. Guys like Neikro, Wakefield, RA Dickey, etc didn't have the right stuff without the knuckler, then bloomed late when they learned the knuckleball. Maybe Kenny will have a similar path. Doesn't hurt to try

  39. Question: What is the strike zone in a Major League Baseball game? If you said the plate horizontally and shoulders to kneecaps vertically, you are wrong. Answer: Whatever the home plate umpire in that game decides it to be. MLB has created a world where there is little consistency in the rules for each game. Every ump has complete control of what they want to call. If a manager or player disagrees, they are immediately ejected from the game. If they say anything to the media after the game, they are fined. MLB has allowed the stance to exist that as long as the calls are consistent for each team, the strike zone shouldn’t matter. That’s ridiculous if you really think about it. How about they have defined rules and they should do their best to follow them. The strike zone is a pretty important part of the game. Making the situation even worse and what allows it to continue is the lack of accountability on the umps. Their union backs them on everything and while they do keep track of accuracy, very little is done to fire or remove umps that do a poor job. Some of the worst offenders are not only allowed to stay on but even get post season assignments due to tenure (I’m looking at you Laz Diaz). I was glad to see the robo ump experiment in spring training. It worked much quicker than most people expected and was a big success. Yet in typical MLB fashion, they didn’t implement this season for fear of upsetting that big, bad umpires union. Typical Rob Manfred leadership.
