The phrase that legend says restarted the relationship between Adams and Jefferson is You and I, ought not to die, before We have explained ourselves to each other The HBO Series on Adams has a great montage of them reading the letters.2 points

A perfect baseball day. Cleveland has already surrendered 2/3 of what they gained by taking 3 of 4 from the Tigers, and we gain more on KC and Minny. What started as a bummer of a weekend has turned out okay.2 points

Most "Star Wars" name on the 40 man? Keider Montero Tarik Skubal Brenan Hanifee Jace Jung (key character in Andor had this last name so...bonus points for him) Gleyber Torres Akil Baddoo2 points

He's a pretty cool dude visiting his final of the 30 active parks. It was a nice interview.1 point

I’m sorry, I don’t think I was clear on this. I don’t care who he is. Is that clear enough for you? 😉1 point

That was kind of a gift strike the Home Plate umpire gave to Jack. I wonder if he had a parlay riding on the pitch count.1 point

Hmm, this is why every time someone says/asks - 'When we are at Full Strength who is going to be sent down?' I just shrug at it because NO team is ever at 'Full Strength' except during the off season, lol. Teams need a lot of Depth this day and age.1 point

The other thing with platooning Carpenter is that Hinch can use him later in the game when the starter is out in key situations….plus we have a couple of guys that bat right handed that can play his position just as well who hit lefties better. Greene provides better defense and overall skill set so it makes a lot less sense to use him in that way.1 point

SF doesn't strike out a lot, they put the ball in play. Put our best possible defense out there.1 point

I tend to believe last season was an outlier for Holton. I expect he can pick it up some from where he is now but I really don't expect to see him duplicate 2024 again in his career. Brieske's problem is poor command - there is enough upside in the stuff for him to improve if he can throw more strikes, of course you can say that about half the pitchers that wash out of MLB.1 point

Erie is playing an early game and it's the free game of the day. You can watch on this page. https://www.mlb.com/milb/news/watch-minor-league-baseball-games-for-free-2025?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage1 point

Lions have enough goal scorers, they don’t need a Shanahan. If anything they need a Chelios across from Lindstrom.1 point

I really wish the Bengals would resolve the Hendrickson thing so I don't have to hear his name ever again.1 point

I don't know if people understand as well as they should how much the interests of Musk and the autocracies are in line. His support for the AfD was a dangerous transgression though and people now know what he is.1 point

the amount of stress that people are under in conflict drives a requirement to weed out the venal and the weak. It doesn't necessarily weed out the egomaniacs.1 point

Pacheco is only 22. Not unusual for minor leaguers to develop on slower timelines. Parker Meadows spent a considerable amount of time in West Michigan. He still K’s too much, which might catch up to him as he advances, but he was also a highly regarded 2nd rounder out of high school. Also, like Meadows.1 point

To add to all of the great news of the day, none of the minor league teams lost today.1 point

Vest is the least of their problems in the pen. Brieske and Holton need to get back to where they were last year.1 point

Is Stephen A. Smith even capable of talking normal? Why does he have to screech? Kinda irritating. Go Timberwolves...1 point

I started watching this game in the fifth inning and Tampa is a FanDuel team. and I tune out all the betting stuff when I watch Tigers games so I can’t compare with accuracy, but I didn’t see any betting scrolling stuff on the bottom of the screen the whole time I watched this game. If we get more betting BS than Tampa I’m PO’d.1 point

It's never too early to start throwing out relief pitchers names that may be available for the Tigers to go after at the trade deadline, or sooner? I mean, do most of us agree that the Tigers need a shut down closer or set up man? Or are we comfortable with Vest closing? Hmmm.....1 point

If the Rays hold on to beat the Twins, the Tigers will be the only team in the Central today to win a game and we will have gained on all four teams.1 point

I think we need to be honest and admit that Trump's worldview, one where everything is transactional and all about personal gain (ie. how he operates), isn't how every other world leader operates. And that Donald Trump isn't nearly self-aware enough to understand that himself. He was never going to end this war on day one because he doesn't understand either side of the conflict. He's Harry Ellis trying to talk Hans Gruber out of the whole Nakatomi Plaza affair. And we're all along for the ride.1 point

Remember the Red Wings. Got real good, got to the Finals, got swept Then had the best record in NHL history, lost in the WCF And then it clicked the next year (after the March 26th incident) I feel like the Lions are kind of on the same path. I think they'll get to a Super Bowl. Even if they have step back year this year, at some point in the next three years they will get there. I feel like there's no way they can have that many injuries again.1 point

Sounds good. I hope you made out like a bandit. I will miss Motownsports very much. It was amazing to go to one site to catch the latest news on all the Michigan sports w/o having to go to each individual place...... Sad and glad you sold it. Great site. I appreciate it very much, you keeping the forums up and running here!1 point
