I can’t believe it’s mid September. Last week I had a monthly meeting with a higher up. He asked if I watched any football over the weekend. I reminded him it’s still baseball season. I think he understand me more now.

Cost of living is another issue. A 1st generation Chinese immigrant can't afford to live in AA, let alone open a business there. Go to poorer cities like Detroit/Pontiac/Flint/Jackson/Lansing and I bet you still can get good Chinese that isn't a chain. I know Battle Creek has 3 or 4 places like that.

Maybe. Baseball is a humbling game especially for young players. 2004’s can’t miss young star, Elly De La Cruz has 1 homer since July 1st. Never saw that coming. Gunnar Henderson hit 28 and 37 the last 2 years and is stuck on 16 this year with 6 total since the end of June. PCA and James Wood started this year as the next to follow. PCA has 1 HR and Wood 3 since July 23rd. This is a weird game to try and predict longterm success.

10:28 North Tower collapses. i spend much of that day desperately trying to reach my sister, who lived in Manhattan, by phone. Wasn’t successful until i eventually realized cell tower calls weren’t getting through. I reached her by email later that afternoon. She previously worked about two or three blocks away from the World Trade Center, but had been laid off about a month previous, but I knew every week she was down there visiting with friends and coworkers and networking so she could find her next job. I just didn’t know if she was down there that morning. Thankfully, she was not. That was the scariest six or seven hours ever to me.
