  1. The day ends with the Tigers at a .571 winning percentage. Maintain that and it’s 92 wins. I’ll take it. Easier said than done, I know. But it’s April and the Tigers are above water.
  2. Essentially they took a day’s worth of offense and allocated it over 21 innings. Crummy day.
  3. Manning walked the first two batters, on what, 9 or 10 pitches? Didn’t give up a walk the rest of the game.
  4. Who do you drop from the 40 for Malloy?
  5. Seriously? I know he has other engagements in his contract, but a spring football game?
  6. 4 starting pitchers today and all went at least 6 innings, almost a clean sweep of quality starts. They all came through with what their teams needed on a doubleheader day. In particular, the second game starters flowed through with what was needed given the first game extra innings. Hat tip to the quartet.
  7. Ok, boys, a little bingo, a little bingo. Get some ducks on the pond, let’s go, boys, sock it to ‘em, eh.
  8. WILLI! Oh, wait, he’s on the other side now.
  9. Is now a good reminder that Monty Williams is the second highest paid head coach in the NBA?
  10. He may be why MLB downsized all of the player name jersey fonts. Or MLB just likes implementing dumb ideas at times.
  11. Alex Lange enters the chat.
  12. Looks at lineup graphic on TV. Baez .282? What?! Oh, wait, that’s OPS. Ok, that makes sense now.
  13. Tigers down by 1, but the no hitter is still intact.
  14. That’s fine, he’s only got 0-1 on him at that point. Maybe he is still out on the plate appearance, but the bunt was obviously a bad decision on 0-1 after the first pitch.
  15. So, Manning and Wentz are givens for the night cap. Faedo, Vest, and Chafin are the others. Everybody else on the pitching staff is a either starter or pitched in the opener.
  16. Good games from Maeda and Keith, but they’ve been forgotten about now.
  17. Pretty obvious Vierling wasn’t up to it. But how many ball players are up to bunting anymore?
  18. Fixed it for you. The games move fast. That reliever needs a head start.
  19. I’m fine with Miller getting the ball then. It didn’t work out. It happens. But I’d have been fine with Foley as well. Honestly I’d have been fine with leaving Holton in. To me, this game down to lack of offense. Maeda held up his end, got them through 6 when they needed the innings. Sure, Miller gave up a solo home run. But the offense struggles again, 3 runs in 9 innings, strike outs galore against Ryan. Lange and McKinstry are going to be blamed, maybe Miller, too. For the sake of the pitching staff, it’s probably better to have lost in the 12th than go on further. Lange is what he is now, and it’s not very good. McKinstry booted it, and that sucks. Can’t do that then. It shouldn’t have gotten to the 12th. Now they need Manning to go 6 and the offense needs to show up. And they probably do need to seriously consider sending Lange to Toledo to work on control. He’s just not good right now.
  20. Add in the fact that he’s probably the bottom of the bullpen anyway. It’s great he can throw the ball a gazillion miles an hour. But the control isn’t there.
  21. Carpenter jacks a two run pizza dong.
  22. I got chills when he started wagging his finger. That was like when Hulk Hogan was losing but suddenly got that look on his face and he started exhaling and you just knew he was about to pound the opposition upside the head five times, through him off the ropes, pick him up, body slam him and then go to the atomic leg drop as the finisher.
  23. Maeda looks good in the 1st. Carpenter with a mini adventure catch and then a nice sliding catch.
