  1. That’s an interesting point. I don’t remember exactly how baseball and the internet merged. Teams kind of did their own thing when they wanted to before everyone was rolled under the MLB.com umbrella. And given baseball’s reluctance to change with the times and maybe not realizing the potential revenue streams associated with the internet, the establishment at large probably wasn’t into this new fangled thing. But when the evolution started, which teams jumped in when, when MLB.com debuted, that’d be an interesting timeline to see.
  2. The obvious answer to the blizzard is to relocate the Bills to London.
  3. Buddha ordering a round of ice waters like a boss.
  4. This is sarcasm, right?
  5. Hey, maybe it’s not as bad as it seems? There’s only one way to go from here, right?
  6. Just sign him as a 3B.
  7. Wasn’t that the season where the Super Bowl was at the Silverdome?
  8. Yes. But, hey, I’m employed, so it could be worse.
  9. I’m going to guess the game is postponed because of the travel conditions rather than if the stadium has a lid or not. I’m going to guess a lot of indoor destinations in and around Buffalo are going to be closed because folks aren’t going to be able to get to them.
  10. Yes it is. OSU at UoM basketball at noon on big FOX. Pistons lose in Washington at 3pm. Monday would be a damn fun sports day if it weren’t a work day.
  11. And this is it right here. Buffalo is effectively shutting down. If everyday activity is told to stop because the travel conditions are treacherous, why should the NFL be allowed to carry on with all of the travel that this game would incur? Not for nothing, but just a hike up the road is Niagara Falls. I know they’ve frozen up a few times. I’d love to see that up close. Probably not for very long, but it’d be cool to see that.
  12. I think a lot of folks forget/ignore the indirect infrastructure associated with these games and how adverse travels for those folks ain’t worth it. Or maybe he’s simply taken too many shots to the head to consider those folks.
  13. I’m not throwing any opinion on whether this is right or wrong. I’ll side on safety, move the game back a day, that’s fine. I don’t recall playoff games from 20 or 30some years ago being postponed due to weather. Maybe I’m wrong, I don’t know. Granted, there are more playoff games these days than back then. No opinion on it, just an observation.
  14. But to oblong’s point, maybe these weren’t the numbers that the sides last exchanged. Maybe they weren’t exchanged at all. We don’t know. What we do know is the $25K difference. It isn’t a good look for the Tigers regardless of the path either/both sides took to get to their figures. That gets added to the pile of questions such as the non trade of Rodriguez, which Harris takes the L in public opinion for that (justified or not).
  15. Bills’ mafia just wanted an extra day to drink in the parking lot.
  16. Sometimes the little things come back to bite in the end. There is this inexcusable event. Or the free throw discrepancy of 22 out of 25 vs 10 of 16. Or the points off of turnovers, 20 to 6. This game was definitely stealing a loss from the jaws of victory.
  17. I look at Vierling’s stats and just shake my head that he had 530 PAs. It doesn’t seem like he played that much, but obviously he did.
  18. Is Wiseman available? Asking for some friends….
  19. Borrow one of Maton's. Barely used.
  20. Here's a question. Do we think the Tigers have this lined up for 3B this season? Yes? OK, I don't believe you, but its just opinion. No? OK. How much would this type of season be worth it to bring him back? 4/60? And I get its just a projection and we're talking about a Jeckyll & Hyde hitter, but its snowing and there's not much other Tiger news right now.
  21. I know for myself going back to last offseason, I could see both sides of the argument for and against Candelario. I slightly preferred bringing him back, but I understand why the did what they did, and so I slept just fine after they let him loose. He's had a bit of a volatile career, so while I didn't think he'd repeat his 2022, I didn't expect his 2023. I thought slightly above average was likely, somewhere around 110 OPS+ for a quick number. As for the deal with the Reds, again, volatile career. I'd probably have ponied up a 2 year with a vesting 3rd, maybe load up some incentives for him. I'm not sure I'm as optimistic as most with Jung as most around here, certainly not for 2024.
  22. You trying to hit your sales quota? 😁
  23. Chafin opted out.
  24. Will Anthony be invited to Jokic's jersey retirement?
  25. How they got to a $25,000 disjoint is the $64,000 question.
