  1. Baez needs a day off now and again. Load management for Cabrera. Schoop is in a platoon.
  2. The inexperience is a valid call out. It was a bit of a disappointing season for him on the surface, but he was a rookie with very little professional experience, he wasn't the only hitter that struggled, there were metrics that suggested he was a bit unlucky with results despite hitting the ball hard. Yes, 2022 stunk. Can't wait to see where he's at around Memorial Day. I think we're going to see significant improvements in the numbers.
  3. The conspiracies are likely to happen whenever he goes.
  4. Agree. I don't see the optimism in this given how he weasels out of everything. The only way he doesn't run for the 2024 presidency is if he is no longer among the living. And even then he's going to get write in votes.
  5. Nice work everybody. We should be proud of ourselves.
  6. Props to you for working on launch angle with him.
  7. Before this road trip started, I figured a 2-4 trip would be acceptable. They've achieved that floor.

  9. Brooklyn Nets vs Detroit Pistons
  10. Then I guess you're in the gray area of umpiring opinion and that's not always a good thing. Well, still a worthy send, I think. It took a throw right on line from Valdez to get Vierling.
  11. Pistons at 63 losses with this L. Houston at 19 wins hosting Denver right now. So, a Rocket win and the Pistons clinch the worst record outright.
  12. But doesn't the catcher have to allow part of the plate to the runner?
  13. Hopefully Cisnero is on a plane out of Texas right now before he warms up for this game.
  14. Why slide at all? Run through, don't slide and lose speed.
  15. The throw was bad. He did field the ball by the bag and his momentum wasn't necessarily in his favor. But his strength is supposed to be his arm. The throw looked tentative, but better to have bounced in front of Torkelson rather than be airmailed over him.
  16. The ricochet was pretty cool. Like to see the exit velocity like that. And the heads up running to get to 3B on the throw to home. So good.
  17. The return of the Jose Abreu beard scrunchie.
  18. He's had 2 plate appearances over the 2020-2022 time frame. He's got 96 innings as a MLB OF. I'm going to guess that slots him behind MeadowsA, Greene, Baddoo, Vierling, Cabrera (ha!) as far as MLB OF experience goes. He's been primarily a RP since 2016, so, yeah, he's not been a 100 IP pitcher. He had 18 starts and 97 2/3 innings last year, so about 5.5 IP/start.
  19. Too wordy. Should be more like:
  20. I don’t know. It seems there is a much more RHH OF time available for him than RHH IF time. He’s really the only “pure” RHH OF on the 40. I would venture to guess that Haase might find more playing time as an OF than Vierling as an IF, at least given the way the 26/40 is currently constructed.
  21. The Schoop at 3B experience tonight, eh? I had a hunch we might see Haase in LF vs the LHP.
  22. I bet buddha’s cat out you on ignore.
  23. Give the ABs & IPs to the younger guys. So, I understand Schoop had the option to come back, and he of course picked it up. I guess I don’t see how bringing back Cisnero jives with that philosophy, but here we are.
  24. Barley’s extension was signed in July, well before Wiseman was acquired. It’s a poor fit with all of these bigs, no doubt. I just think the timing of trading for Wiseman might be a bit of caveat in all of this. If Wiseman is better than Bagley, get him and worry about moving Bagley later on. Bagley tends to get hurt and Duren is still adjusting to a pro schedule, so there’s where some of the log jam can be alleviated there. I guess what I am getting at is, increase the talent level, fit isn’t necessarily the priority. And so, as time goes on, fit becomes an issue, and that can be dealt with at another point. This season is a lost cause anyway. Get the skill set and personalities in house, evaluate in person which 1 or 2 of the 2 or 3 bigs not named Duren to keep/move in the off-season. I’m hoping that’s the case.
  25. I think the off-season will be more telling of how they feel about the collection of bigs. Wiseman was a trade deadline pickup. Perhaps the long term play is that Bagley was acquired when he was because there was still some untapped potential to try to develop. And then later on down the line, Wiseman became available, the Pistons feel he’s the better option and want to move on from Bagley, but there wasn’t time to move him at the deadline and want to try to do so in this upcoming offseason.
