It's hard to separate fact from fiction at this stage. Now Richardson is dropping into the teens as well as Stroud falling behind Levis. I think my favorite first round scenario is Carter at 6 and Robinson at 18, and i have no idea if that is even a possibility. I'd like Stroud at 6 but i don't know what to make of the bad score in that test the other day, plus the questions surrounding his leadership abilities. Oh well whatever happens the Lions are already a playoff team and will be much better this time next week.

The Alabama WR curse lives on.

If they wound up with Carter and Robinson, that would be 2 of the five best prospects from this class according most sites. That would most likely drive a trade of Swift out of town. i Was against taking Robinson but it appears that he may be the best option at 18. If he really is an elite RB it would be worth it IMO.

I had just purchased a brand new cherokee and was at the barber shop. I finished and went out and got into a red cherokee just like mine and started it up. I couldn't figure out why the radio station was on a religious station. So i started to drive a way and a lady came running up to me. I opened the window and she told me i was in her jeep. I'm like "what"? She repeated "that is my jeep". Sure enough I looked and right next to spot where i got in her jeep was mine. Not sure how my key worked in her vehicle but it did. I could see my barber laughing his ass off at the door. He reminded me of that for years until he retired.

That pick at 18 is a difficult one. Kancey doesn't seem like a 3 down guy like others have said. If they go DL at 6 it would be nice if one of the top 4 corners drop to 18, but they may not. The best available in my mocks usually are OT's. That will be interesting.

If Anderson is there at 6 the Lions should look at trading out. They have Houston and a stand up edge isn't a part of their base defense anyways. If they think he will be generational type player then you take him and adjust the scheme a bit. TE is definitely a need. With such a deep crop they can get a good one in the second if they haven't traded one of those picks away.

0 Tech is directly over the center. A 1 tech is in either A gap. Ndamukong Suh used to play this position with Lions a lot and blow up plays immediately. Jim Schwartz used to play the "wide 9" with DE's lined up outside the TE.

Who's the best Tiger named Tim? Tim Corcoran?
-
Agreed. Holmes has shown he can patch holes in free agency. Find the top level talent in the draft.
-
I am sure they are not banking all that money, so they probably have something in mind to spend it on. Chark hopefully and then maybe save some for after the draft to see what needs they may still have.
-
If you are lucky some day you might be too.
-
In 50 years of following the Tigers that is my favorite year. And they went 74-87.

Give Goff a clean pocket and he is a very good QB. The difference between Hurts and Goff is when there is not a clean pocket. And the threat a QB running the ball.
-
You don't think they are going to draft in the 2nd round a slow ILB because he is the correct height and weight?
-
At some point spending big on mediocre QB's is going to become an inefficient allocation of resources. Like Kirk Cousins, Derek Carr, etc. And maybe Goff. You probably can win a SB with them, but the rest of the team better be in great shape, which can be difficult when you are spending 20% of your salary cap on one player. That is the decision Holmes and co. will have next off season if they don't draft one this year.

When the defense improved for the last several games they were playing Buggs at nose and McNeil at the 3T. He certainly can play nose though
-
The dline depth chart I believe is: WDE -Hutch/Romeo, 3T -McNeil, Nose - Buggs/Jones, SDE -Cominsky, Paschel. A stand-up edge isn't a part of their base defense but that depth chart is Houston, Harris. Cominsky and Paschel can move inside on passing downs and they have a NASCAR package where they have multiple DE's and edges in.
-
Just need the Foo Fighters to come by on a flatbed now.
-
I don't think they will take Anderson, they just drafted 2 DE's in the first and second round in last years draft. Plus they just resigned Cominsky and have Houston at edge. Unless there is just too wide of a gap between Anderson and the next player on their board, and they can't trade back. Now with Carter probably off the board it looks a CB at 6 if they stay there.
-
It looks like they may be rebuilding the secondary room as quickly as they did the WR room.
-
Surprising they would bring Harris back along with Moseley. We may actually have depth at the CB position after the draft.

Free agency week is here. The Lions have pretty much the same cap space going in as they had last year. They have will to create some room to resign some of their own free agents and add a piece or two from outside. Here is what i think they will do. They will keep Romeo and cut Vaitai and Harris. They will resign Cominsky, Anzalone, Elliot, and Buggs on defense. They will let Harris and Hughes go. On offense they will keep Williams and let Brown and Chark go. Beyond that they will look for a decent CB that doesn't require a multi year deal. And look to add depth with budget signings on the OL and another CB. Obviously if othere organizations value some of our free agents more than Holmes does they may not be able to bring them all back.
-
Unless they get a CB in free agency I have to think that is the direction they go at 6. They just have to get much better there. However if they just have a much higher grade on one of the DL maybe they wait.

Cam Newton and Richardson are both 245 lbs. Jackson is 212lbs, I don't think he'll last as long. I would not be interested Jackson.

Eddie Brinkman and Norm Cash circa 1973
