Ideal start as Miggy makes it 3-0 with an RBI double. -
I remember a couple years back shortly before Wander debuted and he was basically considered the best prospect in forever one of the sports card channels I follow on youtube that does pack openings had this opening that consisted of a bunch of high dollar cards from all sports. They had Trout rookies, Lebron rookies, Mahomes, Jordan etc. along with Wander. The winners got to pick the card they wanted and one of the winners picked this top of line Gem Mint Wander rookie over the proven guys. For his sake I hope he flipped that by now or else he is going to be kicking himself.

I never really paid attention but I'm guessing the arrow is just for the guy pictured atleast judging by this pic. -
If I'm Ohtani and I truly care about making the playoffs and competing for a WS then there is no way I'm staying with the Angels. He's put up two back to back all time seasons and they still aren't really even close, yes they missed Trout this year but they also got a ton of production from other guys namely Moniak that aren't necessarily sure things going forward.
-
Imagine having Mike Trout for over a decade and Ohtani for 6 years both on team friendly deals and still not beable to sniff the playoffs. Oh yeah AND they play in the 2nd biggest market in baseball too. Such a patheticly run organization.

I guess Mims suffered a calf injury while rehabbing the ankle injury he suffered earlier in camp and that's why the Lions waived him.
-
Lynn ended up being right about us trading Fulmer when he had peak value but the difference was that was when we were tearing things down to the studs and preparing for a long rebuild so it did make sense to trade a young pitcher. Now though that we are closer to contention or atleast we hope to be it doesnt make as much sense cause you are going to need a guy like Skubal in your rotation at some point anyway if you truly plan on contending.
-
Makes me think that they saw something in Mims off the field or in the lockerroom that they didn't like which is why they cut him so soon. Brad and Dan seem to have a short leash for things like that and aren't going to take any chances for a bad seed to spread throughout the locker room. Just speculation on my part though.

To me when I brought up the bust tag it was more just a feeling than based on substance. I mean basically everything has gone wrong since he got here. First off just drafting a WR rehabbing from a major injury is risky in itself but we did it. Then when he returned he didn't really produce, his one breakout play on prime time against the Packers of course ended up being called a penalty so it was erased. Then he gets hit with the whole gambling thing but the silver lining was atleast he was gonna be able to get reps in preseason and practice but of course he drops a big pass in his preseason opener and then gets injured nullifying the silver lining of getting preseason reps. Its just like everything that could go wrong has and that's why I get the "feeling" that things just aren't going to work out.
-
This is awesome! Well done Orioles and Topps! BTW I wonder how many of the infamous Billy Ripken cards he has?
-
Yeah certainly too early to write him off but its hard not to get the feeling that this is just going to end up being a bust of a pick. Fortunately the Lions didn't give up too much to go get him but it still would sting a bit if it does indeed turn out to be a bust.
-
Jamo out for the remainder of the preseason with a hamstring injury so we wont be seeing him till he gets back from his suspension.
-
Toledo and Erie score 15 runs while Keith and Jung go a combined 0-11, atleast Babe Bigbie continued to hit.

Tork now with 20, has a chance to become our first 30 HR hitter since Cabrera way back in 2016. -
I still think Turnbull has too much potential to just let go of so I would make room for him on the big league roster even if he still is struggling. Maybe pair him with Reese have them each go 3-4 innings.
-
I totally don't understand this whole thing so I may be missing something but why are they doing it in the middle of November like right after the regular season starts? It seems like something you would do later on in the season when people maybe kinda losing interest in the regular season like say late February or so.

I suspect we're going to be seeing Campbell make these type of lists alot this year.
-
Max Clark was 2-2 with a double today before being replaced. Don't really follow the going ons of rookie ball so not sure if that is kinda standard procedure or if something happened to him.
-
When he was first drafted I saw a few people say on twitter that he was a for sure SS long term then as time went on it seems to be that people are back tracking on that assumption so I have no idea what to think of him defensively. I guess as long as he can hit that is the main thing but it sure would be nice to actually have a potential SS in the system to be excited really excited about.

Yeah it is going to take alot of ifs to come to fruition but there's atleast a somewhat realistic chance we can be a relatively decent offense next year. We'd probably need Greene to of course stay healthy all year and play like he has this year, ditto for Carpenter. Then Tork would have to take a step forward and be a legit plus hitter along with Vierling possibly getting a little better. Then finally we would need Keith to be legit and probably find 1 other solid bat from outside the organization. Alot of ifs but I don't think they are all that far fetched. -
Yeah I didn't think of the talking part but after you brought it up that is true unless she is some sorta outlier that sounds and acts more mature than her age.

The bad news is the obvious injury but the good news is hearing a team like the Dodgers wanted him before we picked him. They have a good track record of identifying talent.
