Jeimer has definitely made himself alot of money with his performance this year. -

Ibanez again! This time a 3 run shot to give the Tigers a 7-4 lead! -
I see that the Twins just promoted Walker Jenkins to Single A, wonder when/if the Tigers are going to do that with Clark this year?

I agree, they are one of those teams that with the nature of the NFL they could win 5 games or only lose 5 games but I think in general they are better than people are giving them credit for. Yes they did get extremely fortunate in 1 possession games and they did lose some key players but regardless they still won 13 games and do have a ton of talent on offense and a competent QB. That alone makes them a team that you shouldn't look past. Also I think the hiring of Brian Flores as their new DC could be a big move for them and I think has the potential to really help improve that defense. Considering they were terrible last year and lost some key members of the unit he probably isn't going to turn it into a strength or anything but if he can just make it serviceable with their offense that should be good enough. Much in the same regards to the Lions. I still think the Lions "should" be better but I certainly wouldn't be surprised if the Vikings ended up the better team.

I could see Adduci in a role like Costanza had for the Yankees on Seinfeld, particularly the one episode where George had to take reps from the Astros out and "show them a good time". Deuce's role probably includes giving players all the right intel where they can find the hottest spots to hit after the games and how to handle the police if they were to get caught in a tough situation. -

"Advance Game Planner" lol Adduci just talks teams into creating jobs for him, the drunken father of his would be proud. -

Sucks to lose but it's amazing how much for fun the team is to watch when they have a couple guys in the middle of the order that are mashing. -
So tonights Reds Angels game in Anaheim is cancelled due to the effects of Hilary, this is now the 2nd game in a row that the Angels had to cancel due to it. Reason this is noteworthy is this is the first time in 40 years the Angels have had to cancel multiple games in a season due to weather, not multiple games in a row just multiple games period for the weather in any given season.

Javy's bat dies a hero as he scores two on a broken bat double and then Vierling ties it up with a bloop single that Bellinger looked like he misjudged! -

Tigers just announced that Maton indeed was the guy sent down for Meadows. -
Yep, I imagine we benefited more than most in regards to graduations since we really didn't have any major ones this year so by default we were likely to move up some just cause of that but that can't explain a 15+ ascent.

Its cause our fans suck just like Lorenzen said. -
Tigers up to 11 on Kiley McDaniel of ESPNs updated system ranking, they are also only trailing the Twins(9th) among ALC teams. Considering most had us as a bottom third and in some cases bottom 5 team a year ago and now most have us as a borderline top 10 team that is quite the jump in less than a year.

Great to see my AAT get the call up, gives me one more reason to tune into the games outside of the big 3 of Greene, Tork and Carp.

Javy's been almost what I expected with the exception of one very big thing and that is the HR power. I figured he'd be a liability at the plate with his avg and OBP but he could offset that a bit by hitting 25+ bombs a year presumably more than a few in high leverage situations but sadly that hasn't been the case. -

If Julio Rodriguez didn't go crazy this week there's a chance Tork would've won player of the week. Him and Carp both have been monsters this week. -
Lorenzen followed up his no no with perhaps his worst start of the year going only 3 innings and giving up 7 runs with just 1K.

They also have a team OPS of .845, only 21 qualified players in all of baseball have higher than that. For reference our best hitter Kerry Carpenter has an .856 so as a team they are almost as good as our best hitter.

Shep and CMo talking about the guy on the Guardians being a high pick but not panning out thus far and CMO talks about how not all high drafts work out in baseball(duh) made me think of a tidbit I read the other day and that's that out of the 2016, 17 and 18 drafts there have only been 1 All Star total and that was Trevor Rogers of the Marlins and even he hasn't been good outside of that AS season. Those guys are all still young but crazy to think that this many years later there still has only been 1. -
Tigers Beat Writers Lionizing Sub-Replacement Level Ex-Tigers
RandyMarsh replied to Edman85's topic in Detroit Tigers
Yeah can't speak for HS but it was like that for the Tigers for sure, kinda reminds me of Manning since he has been called up for the Tigers. Haven't seen much this year but in prior years he will show flashes of electric stuff but then look relatively ordinary stuff wise other starts. -

Who was the best Tiger that played for Cleveland previously? Colavito obviously comes to mind along with V-Mart and Jhonny Peralta. Any others? -
Tigers Beat Writers Lionizing Sub-Replacement Level Ex-Tigers
RandyMarsh replied to Edman85's topic in Detroit Tigers
When we traded for Norris he was averaging nearly 96 and topping out at 98 with over 12 inches of vertical movement, 2 years later and he was down to 92 and topping out at 94-95 with 5 inches more drop. Just a crazy drop in stuff in a short amount of time and that is just the FB. -
It may be because of the whole load management thing and them not wanting to risk Wemby not playing in those games. Unlike say GS or LAL where if the stars sit people will tune in if Wemby sits nobody is going to tune in for the Spurs.

The Spurs and Blazers is the battle of Lamarcus Aldridge.

Skubal finishes the day with 6IP 3H 1R 1BB 7Ks, now has 43Ks to 7BB on the season with a 3.76 ERA and WHIP about 1 despite a .350 BABIP. Peripherals suggest he should be a low to mid 2s ERA. Ace level stuff!
