  1. If that is the case then that is a terrible use of an asset. Using a top 75 pick on your projected backup qb(who will be injured the first year anyway) just so you could save a few million a year is complete negligence. If the Lions were in cap hell then maybe I could get it but they had and were projected to have more cap space then they could spend while Hooker is under contract.
  2. In regards to Hooker I do think it's worth noting that the pick was made before Goff was clearly entrenched as the long term QB. Goff was coming off a great year but many still weren't convinced yet that it wasn't a fluke and even if it wasn't he wasn't signed long term yet either. I think the Hooker pick was made as a swing for the fences type pick and possible insurance policy if Goff were to turn back into his old self and/or not sign long term.
  3. I swear Tork and Greene can never be good at the same time. When one plays well the other struggles.
  4. Classic, I had seats on camera behind the plate only once and it was kinda nerve racking in a way cause I didn't want to do anything embarrassing like that. It made it worse cause my friend who I went with posted a Pic from the seats on Facebook so alot of our friends turned the game on to see us. I remember somebody commenting on the Pic giving us hell for flinching on a foul ball. I swear even though the net is there it's hard not to flinch.
  5. I give it a B+. The Jamo pick is really the thing keeping it from an A for me. He hasn't been a complete bust and I still think he is going to be a difference maker but as of now he hasn't produced nearly as much as you want and expect from a person drafted that early. Also even though it didn't cost that much it still cost something to trade up so you need to factor that in as well. If he puts up another 1K season with a bunch of impact plays next year like he did this past one I probably will bump that grade up but as of now I can't give that pick anything more than a B- or C+.
  6. I mentioned it in another thread but I think he has the highest upside of any of our prospects. I could easily see him being a top 5 prospect in all of baseball by the end of next season.
  7. It feels like the Rockies haven't been relevant since the Matt Holiday days and he has a kid in the MLB now just to put into perspective how long ago that was.
  8. In regards to our prospects and trading them I'd be open to trading any of them for the right player as I feel none are at the untouchable level. If I had to say who I'd be willing to move first, Rainer would be the obvious answer due to how far away he probably is but to me I also feel he may have the highest upside of anybody so I'd be more inclined to keep him. With that said it would probably be McGonigle at this point, on the flip side of Rainer he may have the highest floor of the big prospects but I think his ceiling is limited(compared to the others) cause of his power.
  9. Max Anderson had 3 more hits today for Erie raising his OPS to .970 which is top 5 in the Eastern League. Is he starting to become a guy we should keep a closer eye on now?
  10. Hunter Brown who has been one of the very best starters in baseball since July pitched for the Astros today which means we get to miss him this week. A bit of a break there.
  11. I'd be fine with it if it started after like the 12th inning but doing it right after regulation seems too soon.
  12. This will be the sixth time already this year where we are playing for a sweep.
  13. The last 2 players to hit 4HRs were both on the Dbacks and both former Tigers, Suarez yesterday and JD Martinez in 2017.
  14. I hope Gabriel reminds him every day that he was drafted ahead of him.
  15. Holmes calling Agnew last night, "Hey Ray this is Brad Holmes, you ready to be an NC A&T Aggie?"
  16. So there's this everyday guy in Australia who's first name and twitter handle is just Shadeur, anyway a couple high profile twitter accounts accidentally tagged it while typing out Sanders name so now there are 100s of thousands of replies and reposts mistakingly directed at that guy. Poor guy is gonna log into his account and wonder what the hell is going on.
  17. Looking on twitter and I noticed a few different Bills fans being upset that we jumped them for TeSlaa, it sounds like there was a link with him and Buffalo, atleast among the local Buffalo media.
  18. Brady Quinn was like 20 years ago but yeah he had that look you described but even he was eventually still drafted in the first.
  19. Raiders with back to back picks, surely one of them will be Sanders.
  20. To me it's not necessarily about what guys they could've potentially drafted in those slots, it's the fact that they have value which can come in handy if say we wanted to go trade for a veteran next season like we did Carlton Davis last year or if there is a guy that you love that drops next draft. That's just 2 less bullets you have to use to get said player(s).
  21. Didn't they trade up for Hooker as well?
  22. Even if it is/was an even trade based off the value charts I still don't agree with risking that kinda capital for essentially a high ceiling project. To me that type of return is for somebody like a Brian Branch type of player who inexplicably dropped in the draft.
  23. You don't essentially use 3 third round picks for a solid number 3, atleast imo. I think for that kinda capital you need to get a true game changing type wide receiver.
  24. Also unless he had a 1A and 1B option it was a little risky giving up all that capital for a single player when you weren't even on the clock.
