    It was an inside the parker but still hit it to the deep LCF, the two fielders collided it at the wall resulting in the ball going away. So even though it was an inside the parker it hit off the wall so not a total cheapie.

    Eduardo is currently through 4 innings of 1R ball with 6Ks down in Toledo.

    I get major Rick Porcello vibes watching Hill from the CF cam. Not necessarily his stuff or anything even though the low 90s FB is similar but just the way he looks, his profile and some of his mannerisms.

    After only scoring 8 runs on the road in the 1st inning the first 4 1/2 months of baseball, the Tigers have now scored 4 in the past 2 days.

    Tigers offense finally catches a break when Harold's dribbler bounces off the 2nd base bag and gets away from the SS, unfortunately Baez who was on 2nd wasn't running hard the hole time and got thrown out at home. But wait as I type this they overruled the out by calling catcher's interference. So 1-0 Tigers.

    On the bright side if we can get good pitching like we've been getting next year we could be alright with even a half way decent offense. On the other hand if our pitching regresses next year and our offense continues to be hopeless things could get even uglier than they are now.

    I probably wouldn't bet on him repeating his defensive performance this year cause he's one of if not the best defenders at 2B but I also wouldn't bet on it completely falling off next year. He's only 30, we saw Kinsler keep his elite D here till his mid 30s so there's no reason to think Schoop can't do it for one more year.

    Schoop's peripherals like BB%, K%, LD%, GB%, FB% are all inline with his career norms where up until this year he was an average or slightly above average hitter, the only difference is his BABIP and HR/FB% have plummeted. That could be due to the new ball or it could just be bad luck, for our sake lets hope it's the latter cause he still is only 30 years old so it's not like he is at the age where you expect him to fall off a cliff.

    I can't think of any player in particular but it sure would be nice if we could end up getting a reasonably priced FA that ends up contributing, kinda like how Grossman did for us last year or a complete castoff that ends up breaking out for us. It seems like the good teams find these guys regularly and outside of JD and Peralta we never do, that was 8 years ago with JD and over 10 with Peralta so I'd say we're due.

    Yeah, he listed the league top 50(no Tigers) then listed each team's top prospect which is where I saw Keith. I think he will release each team's rankings later in the week. Be interesting to see if Jobe is even at number 2 or if Jung and others passed him up. BTW speaking of Jobe pick, he has Lawlar and Mayer 9 and 10 overall.

    Kiley Mcdaniel of ESPN just listed Colt Keith as our top prospect. First person I seen that has him there.

    Assuming we get a new hitting coach perhaps he can unlock some of that lost power in Schoop, we know he's never gonna be a good obp guy but if he can get back to hitting 20 to 25 hrs with plus defense he would be pretty useful.

    I remember growing up opening night was usually either on or right about Halloween, I like having it start a couple weeks earlier.

    Yeah it was only 92 but considering it was up and away and he still managed to pull it to the right center field alley for a HR is pretty impressive. Usually the only way your hit a ball out like that is if you go oppo with it.

    In regards to the catcher promotions, I seem to recall hearing that Jake Rogers may be coming back shortly, if so you would have to think he'd be rehabbing somewhere for atleast a week or 2 so you may have to also factor him into the equation.

    Funny you should say that cause earlier I was thinking something similar and went and looked at his stats and I noticed that he was a former top prospect that really struggled in 2020 and 2021 before breaking out this year being on a 5 WAR pace, just another example that can give us some hope for guys like Tork and to a lesser extent Greene despite their struggles this year.

    Trevor Thompson says Skubal is currently in LA getting a second opinion on his elbow no word yet on the results but I'm guessing it's going to be either amputation or something so rare the experimental surgery gets named after Skubal.

    I see Lynn's in a positive mood today, nothing but sunshine and blue skies ahead for the Tigers going by his tweets. I give it a couple days until he responds with a "doom and gloom" day, he's bipolar with the Tigers like that. One day it's nothing but positive things, the next its doomsday for the foreseeable future.

    Ive seen some people talk about the positive effect Miggy might have on ticket sales and I just don't buy it. Yes he did when he was chasing milestones but now that those are all gone I don't see many people buying tickets to see him. You probably could get a good turnout for his final series if advertised but really how much does 3 games worth of extra ticket sales really effect the bottom line in the grand scheme of things?

    If I'm the Lions The only thing keeping me from trading for Roquan is the fact that you want to have as much ammunition just in case you need to trade up for a qb. If they truly believe in Goff and don't plan on drafting one this year then Id gladly give up the Rams pick for him and pay him. Yeah he's going to want alot of money but I'm this day and age where teams seem to be circumventing the cap I really don't care , you're unlikely to draft a player out his quality with that pick and he's young enough where he can help you for many years to come.
