  1. Yep, on top of that Baddoo turned into a pumpkin, Reyes got injured and Grossman has been terrible/injured.
  2. Everybody hitting HRs yesterday but us!
  3. We know the offense has been horrendous all year but it has been especially horrendous on the road. This was the 21st true road game(they played a "road game" at Copa so not including that) and in those 21 games this is the 10th time they scored 1 run or less and the 14th time they scored 2 runs or less. So in about half the games they would've needed to pitch a shutout to win and in 2/3rd only give up 1 run to win. Only 5 times have they scored more than 3 runs and one of those took extra innings(only had 2 after 9) to get. Their high water mark for runs on the road is 5. Absolutely pathetic.
  4. Judge and Rizzo have 32HRs combined in roughly 350 ABs, the Tigers have 30HRs as a team in almost 1700 ABs. lol
  5. Not much of note tonight offensively from what I can gather but Ty Madden pitched a gem for WM going 6 innings of 3 hit baseball with 7Ks and no walks. Only run was on a solo shot.
  6. Castro's biggest problem is balls hit right at him, perhaps the Yankees batted ball stats suggests they don't hit many to straight away CF so Hinch thought he may be safe out there?
  7. Jameson Taillon of the Yankees took a perfect game into the 8th last night, Cole has one through 5 tonight. If Cole can match him I wonder when the last time if ever a team went back to back starts of taking a perfect game into the 8th inning?
  8. Denver would be my pick even with them playing it that tough decision. They went 9-8 last year with a plus point differential despite bottom 5 qb play. That is impressive. You swap out bottom 5 with potentially top 10 or maybe even top 5 qb play and you can easily win an extra 4 or 5 games.
  9. Yeah just one of many variables that make it hard to accurately compare fielders' stats. Like say you're an OF that plays behind an extreme strikeout and gb staff so you get limited opportunities, you may end up saving less runs than the player that gets more chances but that doesnt mean you're a worse fielder. The fact that different metrics can spit out drastically different views on guys is all you need to know about the accuracy of fielding stats. Now if all the stats say a guy is great then he probably is, same thing with bad but when you get a mixed bag or its kinda neutral I don't put a ton of stock in them.
  10. May be different if you have an iphone/mac but for android I just Googled "apple tv plus" and it took me right to the site. At the top of the page it had a "watch Friday Night Baseball" link. I imagine once the game starts all you have to do is click on that link.
  11. USC will be back to their old dominant self within a few years. Id go as far as to say they may even overtake Bama as the dominant school.
  12. For those that don't have apple tv I guess it's still free to watch the game from what I read on wxyz app. I guess you just have to download it and I imagine create an account.
  13. Also as much as I hate Manfred he made the right decision in not overturning it. It sucks but you open up a can of worms by doing that, like what if a pitcher that threw a perfect game benefited by a a bad umpire call, do you go back and erase that?
  14. Exactly, Dallas Braden threw a perfecto on Mother's Day just a few weeks before Galarraga's game so it's not like there was a major perfect game drought either.
  15. I remember I got into an actual real debate with a guy on the old espn boards about armando and jv. This was in April of 2009 right before JV broke out and Armando collapsed. Anyway the dude would not back off his stance that Armando was going to be better than JV.
  16. Speaking of fielding numbers, I saw a tweet the other day that Aqino of the Reds was at plus 10 runs and he only played in 22 games at that point. The main reason why is he has like half dozen non cutoff man assists with most of those happening at home plate. Those are rightfully worth quite a bit in the runs saved stat.
  17. Perhaps I'm misremembering but my memory tells me we actually touched up Cole a few times in his career so hopefully we will do the same tonight.
  18. I think 55 year old Al Horford outscored the Warriors by himself in the 4th. Atleast it seemed like it anyway.
  19. Jameson Taillon of the Yankees had a perfecto going through 7 but just gave up 2 hits and a run in the 8th. Yankees trail 1-0, which means they probably will score a billion runs tomorrow against us.
  20. I see Meadows was replaced in Toledo. Could it be that he already is ready to go and he left early to head to NY or did he have a setback?
  21. Here's video of Riley's bomb.
  22. Good news in West Michigan is Colt Keith is 3-4 with 2 bombs, bad news is that Dylan Smith got roughed up a bit with 4 runs in 5 innings with just a couple of Ks.
  23. Once we get closer to the draft I may get around to starting a thread about it if nobody else does but for now I figure I'd just post this in here. Kiley McDaniel of ESPN put out his 1st mock and he has us taking Jace Jung out of Texas Tech. Kiley has him listed as a 3B but MLB.com has him listed as a 2b, they also have him ranked 8th overall so getting him at 13 would be a slight steal. Kiley speculates that where we are in our rebuild we probably want somebody closer to the majors especially since he took a HS pitcher in the first round last year and that is a big reason why he has us taking Jung.
  24. Dan's call of the Daz HR. Kinda sounds like he was surprised it carried out.
  25. Yeah he clearly needs another 5 weeks of rehab.
