  1. I don't remember if there were any elite bigs in it, I imagine there were but I thought I remember reading about him dominating that big global tournament over the summer of kids under 20?(I believe that was the age group)
  2. Death, taxes, atleast 1 of the Castrai in the lineup.
  3. Please tell me Duke isn't going to win it all, Gonzaga and Arizona both lost today as well as Baylor last round so Kansas is the only 1 seed left. The thought of Coach K winning a championship to end his career is making me nauseous.
  4. Not sure if it was mentioned elsewhere but our old friend Andrew Miller retired, Maybin retired earlier this offseason as well so that makes Miggy the last man standing from that trade.
  5. Now that it appears that the Pistons have a franchise guy in Cade, does that mean that they should play it safe in the draft and insure they get a guy that can help Cade and take a guy that may not have as high of ceiling but has a high floor and a relatively good chance of hitting his ceiling or do you go the other route and swing for the fences and go with a high ceiling high volatility guy with the mindset that if you whiff it's not that damaging since you have already have a young superstar anyway?
  6. That 2018 draft is a painful reminder of just how tough it is to find and draft the right qb. Some pundits were hyping it to the 83 draft in terms of qbs and so far it produced 2 huge busts in Darnold and Rosen and a mini bust on his way to being a true bust in Mayfield. On a positive note it did produce two All Pros in Allen and Jackson but even Jackson wasn't really seen as the top tier heading in so out of the 4 guys that were 3 ended up busts.
  7. God do I hope his fabled splitter is back.
  8. The ESPN guys of Kiper, McShay, Miller and Jordan Reid came out with their latest positional and overall rankings, Hutch and Hamilton are the consensus 1 and 2. Nothing really of note other then they all still have Ojabo as the top olb and all say they expect him to still go in the 1st round or early 2nd at the latest so if they are to be believed any thoughts of him slipping till the 3rd to us isn't going to happen.
  9. I think the Tigers still have dreams of Willi returning to his COVID shorten season form and they will give him every opportunity to do so but I think time may be running out in him. You could understand last year when they were throwing out the likes of Harold and Zack Short but with Baez in tow and Schoop back at 2nd there's really no need or place for him on the team.
  10. I agree, while unlikely Thibs is the one guy who I think has atleast a slim chance of being Myles Garrett or Myles Garrett light. He certainly has some risk but I wouldn't be against picking him and hoping MCDC and company get the most out of him.
  11. I always thought teams were too protective of draft picks before but now it appears the pendulum has swung to the other extreme. People will look at the Rams but they were smart about who they used the picks on. First even though Goff wasn't everything they hoped for there is nothing wrong with using capital to make sure you get the qb you want most in the draft, which is what they did. They then used 2 1sts on the defacto number 1 cb in the game while he was still young. Again at the stage they were in nothing wrong with that. Of course we all know about the Stafford trade, using 1sts to get a premium qb in his prime is perfectly ok and finally they traded some picks for the best available pass rusher Von Miller. They were smart and calculated about their picks, they didn't just dump picks for guys when they were years away from being SB contenders or for guys that were about to fall off a cliff performance wise.
  12. Pistons beat the Hawks 122-101. Didn't get a chance to watch this one but judging by the box score it looks like Cade made a helluva impact. His 17(7-12FG) 8 and 6 line looks modest enough but the Pistons outscored the Hawks by a whopping 43 points in the 35 minutes he was on the court. In the 13 minutes he was on the bench the Hawks outscored them by 22 points. Just an unbelievable difference.
  13. You can say the same thing about a pass rusher, if the pass rusher is merely just a good rusher he's not going to live up to the pick, he's got to be atleast in the league of the Bosa brothers or else he's going to be seen as a disappointment. If he merely produces at a Romeo Okwara type level of 10 or so sacks a year most would say he didn't live up to the hype. Basically any player you draft at number 2 you a hope will play at an all pro level or at the very least pro bowl level and out of all the guys in the draft I think Hamilton has the best chance to do that.
  14. Hamilton can play all over the field hence why many evaluators who take into account positional value have him as the number 2 overall prospect, no other safety is in top 30 so that tells you how highly people think of him. Drafting an inferior player just for need and bc he plays a valuable position is what loser teams do. There's a ton of pass rushers in this draft all of which are viewed pretty equally after Hutch. You could just as easily get a great one with the 32nd or 34th pick. For the record I'm not necessarily advocating taking Hamilton, I don't have a strong opinion either way but what I don't believe in is passing on him cause "he's just a safety".
  15. Outside of drafting another OT there's really nobody that I will be disappointed with at this point with the 2nd pick. Not that I think all the players are going to be great but just about all of them have question marks to some degree and all of them have positives that you can point to as well so it would be hard to be upset with them taking any particular player over another. The only way I would be upset is if it comes out that they turned down a good trade package for the pick only to take a Hamilton, Walker or Thibs. I could understand not doing it for Willis if they believed he was a franchise qb but to pass on it for any other position would upset me.
  16. Shep just had to yell over Dan, what a moran!
  17. With Fulmer giving up 2 runs in less than inning I believe this is the first time this Spring that a pitcher that we project to have a significant role has struggled.
  18. I think the team that would trade up for Willis is probably a team that has an older qb now that still plans on being half way decent next year to the point where Willis may be their best chance of getting their future qb. If you are tanking next year you might as well just either wait and see if he falls to you in this draft or just draft your qb next year. Of course if you are absolutely in love with him and think there isn't going to be a guy like him next year than that changes things but I just have a hard time believing that there are any teams that think that.
  19. If they love Willis they would gladly sacrifice a 2nd to ensure him but I just don't see them being that in love with him. I think they are basically gonna play it like how we did a year ago, build up their team, finish near or at the bottom and maybe go get their future qb next draft.
  20. I was thinking that too but they also could be of the school of thought that by having one of the best qbs in football they don't need to spend a 1st on one. Even though it pissed Rodgers off the Packers always had this philosophy and it worked for them, same with Brady and the Pats.
  21. Schefter says it's a done deal, Hill to the Dolphins for 2022 1st(29 overall), 2nd and 4th plus 2023 4th and 6th. That is quite the haul for a WR.
  22. Yes not all safeties are created equal, just cause it has an S next to your name doesnt mean that it what you play every snap. Hamilton can play in the box as a run stopper, make plays as a centerfielder, play a good slot corner and many folks think he is going to make a great pass rusher, much in the mold of Adams.
  23. Not trying to be funny but with Tua at QB it seems like the Dolphins would be a terrible fit for him. Sure they could still use him in little screen passes and let him work his magic after the catch but anything downfield will basically be negated with Tua's inability or unwillingness to throw the ball more than 10yds down the field.
  24. Aside from Willi Castro instead of Schoop looks like we are busting out the potential Opening Day lineup. Poor Will Crowe is going to wish the lockout never ended.
  25. I heard speculation that the Jets may part with both of their top 10 picks, if true I think that is way too much. Yes this draft isn't that good and yes Hill can be a game changer but that is too steep of price for me just to then have to give him a huge extension. Also we don't know how much he benefits from the attention Kelce draws and having Mahomes at qb. Also he has games where he just disappears, he isn't prime Calvin where seemingly every game he is putting up 100 with a TD, Hill will routinely have games where you don't even know he his playing. If Im giving up 2 1sts and making him the highest paid wr I want more consistency than that.
